awww.. don't feel that way! you're just new to the area, and are having problems finding a job... Even people who have lived here for many years can't even find jobs. Think of the thousands of people that were laid off by Enron, WorldCom and the hundreds of other struggling/corrupt companies... It'll be ok.. at least you have people who care about you and people you can talk to...
Migraines suck.. I used to have them, grew out of them... Imitrex worked for me, Pills work to slow, shots worked the fastest, but then again its a shot.. the nasal was the way to go..

I feel the collective pain here in this thread.

I have spent the last year working on my Oracle DBA. I finally got it and can't even get an interview. My situation is that I don't have any experience...only classroom time and my certification. I also don't have a security clearance, I don't think it will be a problem to get one but the employers all seem to want an existing clearance.

So if anyone knows of a shop that will give an entry level DBA a chance I would love to hear about it.

PS, I also trained for my MCSE in NT but didn't have enough time to certify before they dropped the tests for NT.

Will work for scoobie snacks.

i hear ya, screw a pity party, let's just have a regular party, need to lift our spirits up.

i've been depressed as funk lately, hell i wasted thousands of dollars moving here for nothing, i may have to move back home after the holidays.

the sooner i get out of VA the better, well i'm actually heading to WV next fall but that's for school, maybe.

Default hmmm

pity party, regular party, they both have liquor, right? housewarming party at mine in the beginning of december! plus this isn't a tip on getting a new job, but it might help someone out w/ costs that's looking to lower their bills. my friend and i need a roommate, rent will be around 300 dollars (that's WITH utilities! ) for the 3rd and 4th person, it's a 4 bedroom townhouse w/ 3.5 bathrooms, central air, washer/dryer, dishwasher, big screen tv, tons of perks. it's in the fredericksburg area, about an hour north of richmond, hour south of dc, subaru enthusiasts warmly welcomed!

Wink Another employment plea.

Hello, somehow I managed to skip over this thread, (although I'm new to i-club... hello to me! ... so it might be due to the fact that I'm just getting used to this whole thing)

Anyway. I'll now add my 'sob story' and attempt to get my name and stats out to a larger number of individuals who have potential employment contacts.

My name is Katelynn, I recently (3 weeks new) moved to the area from Minnesota. I'm a student (between colleges) who has a Junior level standing and will be completing my degree in the next couple of years. I'm a double major in Biology and Psychology with a concentration in Animal Behavior and Pre-Vet studies.

I have most of my experience in animal care and veterinary area's (anyone know if their vet is hiring?). I've done everything from manage large equine boarding facilities (60+ horses), program director for a therapeutic riding facility (provided instruction to disabled equestrians) and working as a veterinary assistant/tech.

I also have a great deal of experience working with and managing individuals with disabilities. I've provided home care (day case management and overnight supervision) as well as coaching special olympics and working in therapeutic settings as an instructor, OT, PT and rec. aide.

Lots more where that came from including a resume if anyone has any ideas or is interested in more.

Thanks for the thread, helps me feel like I'm doing something more as what I'm doing doesn't seem to be getting me very far!

And chins up to everyone else on here who's looking... I agree that there should be some sort of party to uplift spirits... or maybe an i-club version of a 'women's group'
