Add me to the list-Maybe

Hey guys. Yesterday morning the bank I work at (Farmer's and Mechanics) as a network services technician suprisingly announced that Mercantile Bank and Trust was buying us out. They had a big informational meeting last night and discussed what they were planning for "backroom" support staff. It doesn't look good.

So put me on the list of IT pros looking for work.

I have two years of help desk related experience and a little under a year of PC and Network Support related experience. I am very eager to take on more responsibility. Ultimately I would like to focus on IT Project Management but am open to anything that brings a pay check.

Thanks
Brad Alger

Man, I feel crappy for posting this, but I'm looking to relocate back to the Northeast from Florida. If anyone knows any sort of openings for scientific research, whether it be academic or industrial, please send me a PM.

For the rest of you IT people, good luck!

No idea what my future is but looks like even being a contractor for the gov might involve some cutbacks. The dreaded C word was being used alot around the office.

Come 30 September - my contract is ending, and I'm being replaced by the gov't people who answer the damn help desk phones. I'm a Wintel sys admin with 5+ years of experience, a DOD secret clearance, and extensive experience in the disaster recovery/backup areas. Anyone looking?

Yeah, but they're all looking for top secret - which I don't have, and it doesn't look like I'm gonna get. Sucks - there are plenty of jobs that require top secret.

I am not sure if this post actually gets any serious hits, but I figure that it cannot hurt.
I am currently looking into the market for a new job. I am still employeed but want a change as my office is very small and there are no opportunities to move up without relocating to our other corporate location which is outside of Los Angeles.
I have three years work experience in the fields of financial consulting (1 yr.) and treasury operations (2 yrs.). I graduate from Georgetown with an overal 3.4 gpa and major in accounting. If you know of anything available in the fields of consulting, treasury, finance, operations, etc please let me know.

Default mechanical engineer

Hey anyone interested in a Mechanical engineer? I have worked for Naval Aviation Subsystems Engineering for 4 years and am ready to move on to something else, preferably in the automotive or research & development industry. I have a Secret clearance, good with AutoCAD 2000i and ProE 2000i^2. Good hands on mechanical skills, fluent Spanish, team oriented and good communication skills. I am very flexible with pay if the job interests me. Hey and good luck to everybody, keep your hopes and drive up.

I am sure you're post is not helpful to those who's looking for a new job. Please be more considerate as you have a job. There is nothing wrong being laid off or job less. It's just a transition point in peole's careers where other challenging moves are being search for.

Best luck for those looking.

I'm looking for freelance editing work. Most of my experience is with high school science textbooks but I'd be willing to try something different.

Anyone with TS/ISSB, ISSA or other security clearances...drop resumes to dave@infodata.com and I'll send them up a level. I can most guarantee anyone with ISSA immediate placement. I do not know what kind of work you will be doing though as that information cannot be provided to me.

The inbox will be waiting.

Default Who Knows...

I work in the automotive industry so I don't know a whole lot about most of the fields I see you guys are in but I figured I would shout off a few companies around here that I pass by or know people who work there etc...

Orbital Sciences- I have a friend who is a junior draftsman there...from what I understand they are an engineering firm...orbital does work for NASA.

There are alot of printing companies around here for those of you looking at graphic design etc... Whitman Printing in Annapolis is a pretty big one, small ones like minute man press...there is a big design firm in annapolis that i cant remember what the heck it's called.

Lots of law firms in annapolis...off the top of my head Parrott & Donahue is one.

If your interested in the automotive field PM me, I could most likely point you in the right direction of someone who is hiring...or if you need info on any of the companies I mentioned.

Hopefully this may have helped someone...most of these are in Baltimore/Annapolis area and not DC/VA but obviously the job market in DC isn't so hot these days.

That's when I started this thread.

Today, I have a job as a programmer again!

Just got hired on a temp-to-perm basis by SAIC (www.saic.com) to help build a database/web interface for an inventory tracking system.

Oh happy day!

Will get the skinny on hiring there and update you kids when appropriate! Thanks all for your help!

(Now that the thread originator is employed, should we close the thread? No one else matters, right?)
