Default We'll be hiring.

Mach V will have a job opening in late August. It doesn't pay very well, but if you're reading this you're probably enough of a car nut that you might like the work.

If you are interested, drop by the shop, or just e-mail me a resume (put RESUME in the subject field).

We're not talking $60K a year computer work here; more like near-minimum-wage warehouse packing and shipping stuff. But hey, it beats sitting at home and doing nothing.

Default College CS major looking for tech work.

Yep, same story pretty much. although I actually have a job at the moment :\ I currently work at REI, which is opening a store in the fairfax area soon (like, next couple months if any of you are interested, they hire just about anyone with outdoors/camping/clothing/footwear experience and great benefits too ranked 73rd best place to work) it's an outdoors store.
But see how far away from my major that is!!

what I'm looking for is a job, part-time, that deals with computers. (yes, just about anything)

been using computers for... 14 years now. just about.
anyone with anything please feel free to contact me by pm, or email. I'll be attending GMU in the fall.

Thanks
--Andrew
(I have tried going through the university for work, not much luck)

Well, I am considering adding a full-time webmaster/designer who also knows about database and a little network.

Website design and maintanence are the primary roles. You must be able to impliment our ideas in the site. It will contain multiple scripts for shopping carts, email list management, and fairly complex scripts for shipping options and bonus products, etc. You MUST be able to build it from scratch, get it online, and make it work ALL THE TIME. This is not a position to learn this skill.

The other skills will be a bonus.

We have a relaxed atmosphere. Blue jeans and T-shirts are the standard dress. We only have 10 employees.

When your probation period ends, the following benefits begin:

2 weeks paid vacation
All major holidays off and paid
5 sick days paid (no need to be sick, just tell us you want off)
You are paid for your lunchtime
9 to 5 only (unless the site or network crash)

If you are in the area, and QUALIFIED, let me know.

Salary, if reviews are positive:

$35,000 first year
$45,000 2nd year
$55,000 3rd year

Let me know.

I know $35,000 is not alot to start. I am paying off ALL of the company debt. So, you will be working for a company that has virtually no risk of going under. It's possible that the pay increases could come more quickly.

I currently manage a technical help desk for DOD in Alexandria VA. The pay is not spectacular, but if hired there is three weeks paid vacation, Sick leave, 401K, and a whole other slew of other perks. The company I work for is a fortune 500 company that has been around for awhile, and is not a fly by night internet company that is worth a billion dollars one week, and Chapter 11 the next. My office has been working with DOD for almost 25 years, and we are not going anywhere soon. PM me and I will give you my office e-mail address to forward your resume.

The company I work for is looking for EE's, we do system integration/engineering work. We are also looking for field engineers (engineer assistants with technical background in electronic installations such and such - almost all of the ones here are ex-military), and for Drafters. We also have a fairly large fabrication section which builds cables, circuits, racks, all sorts of crap, and are always hiring people for these jobs.

Chesapeake, VA

PM for more info, the place is growing fast and will be hiring for a while.
