Cool Auto-X: Some Subarus Haul Gluteus Maximus!

Woo Hoo!

Well, I'm claiming Subaru bragging rights until the next autocross. I got fastest time of the Subaru bunch (40.795s), besting even Eric (mister "my Bondurant instructor said...") and hanging with the M3's.

Maybe next time somebody with go-kart handling or forced induction will come out and put me in my place. That, or Eric will get some tires and stomp me!

But, until then... RED RULES! Ha, ha!

(Sorry, I guess I'm just giddy after getting beat at the auto-X practice.)

Seriously, everyone ran great! The first timers improved every run and the slightly more experienced people did well, sticking with the BMWs. The rest of you should go next time. It was a blast!

Congratulations Bud! You placed a well deserved W!

I can't wait to get out there again, but its looking like my car is going to need some upgrades before I go.

Most notibly, a surge tank.

Not bad for a sissy bed wetter

Good job Red. Too bad I work every Sunday now. I will have to take some time off sometime and see how badly I can roast the (Im)potenzas.

Me too! My car stuttered two or three times after big sweepers. I might have cut a couple more tenths if I'd been able to keep gas to the engine. I ran with about 2/3 a tank of gas. I should have run with over 3/4, but I didn't want the extra weight. Next time I'll just fill the damn thing.

Thanks for the kudos!

Red difinitley had it hooked up. Eric was right on him with just a couple hundredths of a sec. I don't recall how Mike did, pretty good I'm sure. I had a good time watching and driving. Some of the cars were crazy. If I do this more, I want to get some wheels and tires just for the events. I felt like I was killing the RE 92's as they howled the entire course. My times were pretty slow, starting with 46, but I got down to about 43.307.

This was fun, but I think I still like dirt better. At least I didn't have to clean the car for an entire day.

Congrats Red. Sounds like you were haulin' booty. Maybe since you did so well, you will finally SEND ME MY TROPHY! I know how bad you wanted it, but I am sure it doesn't feel the same as actually winning it. Good driving Red.

Yes, Bud and Eric definately had the times to beat. I ended up with a fastest time of 41.8**. Can't remember the last 2 digits.
The unfortunate thing is that since I had the sway bar I had to move to the Street Prepared class. Now normally this wouldn't be a problem, but the 2.5RS was reclassed this season, and instead of being in FSP, it is now in DSP.
Bud seemed to not like that very much either.
Oh well, what are you going to do?
Pray for rain!!

No way baby! I'm holding it hostage until I win my own. So you'd better be rooting for me!

Can you believe they reclassified us as DSP?! I might actually take the stupid sway bar off for the rest of the season. I'll have to wait and see how I place. I actually beat Dwight by around 1/2 second or better. He was flabbergasted. So, if his PAX score comes out better then mine I might just have to take the bar off. (Who knows, I might be leading NV2.)

We all had a fun time out there and Congrats to Bud for taking fast time of the day! HE ran an awesome race. My best time was a 40.9xx. Hopefully I'll have some new tires by the next event but we'll see!

I say that you guys tell tehm you tool them off, but don't. DSP is NOT the class those cars belong in. They were smoking crack to come up with that, especislly since my new WRX is going to be GS.

That WRX might just be slower at the auto-X then our RS's. Smaller displacement, turbo impeller in the way way of the exhaust. Ya', never know. It's hard to keep it in the torque band in an auto-X.
