Smile Dropped my car off today

Well I am Impreza-less for a little while, but when I get it back it should be better than ever. I dropped it off at Robert's this morning for work on the turbo kit.

Of course some of the parts (guage pod housing, hi-flow cat) I was waiting for came in today after I got back from Prescott Valley, so I get to make another trip up this week

I will post some more updates as I get them.

Aaron

Awesome! I can't waot to see how it comes out. What are the details of the kit? Turbo size, intercooler, etc.?

I believe he said it was a T3/T4 hybrid. He's planning on starting at 5 psi, but I could already see the early symptoms of a boost-junkie. I don't remember about the intercooler.

So Aaron, ole' buddy ole' pal... when do I get a test drive?

I am getting a T3 .48 housing with a T4 turbine. We spec'd the turbo this way, so I would be able to crank the boost up to 9-12 psi if I get the tec-II kit down the road, but I should still have pretty good boost response. Non-intercooled at the moment but I keep checking out Kid22's Spearco IC that he is selling. 2.25 up pipe, 2.5 down pipe, into a 2.5 hi-flow cat. K & N cone filter. I will probably go with the Vortech SFMU (RRFPR) in the hopes of covering fueling with just that, until I crank up the boost like a real boost junkie.

I am putting the Autometer Phantom Boost, EGT, and fuel pressure guages in the subaru guage pod housing. I went with the competition probe for quicker response times on the EGTs. The plan is to run 4-5 psi.

When I get the car back I am going to a local shop and get a 2.5" cat-back put on with a turbo borla or similar muffler. I am also getting the ACT clutch and the STi tranny mount I think.

I am sure there is a bunch of stuff I am forgetting, but it should be quite a different car when I get it back

Red,

I think it is required that only 1 person drive it for the 50,000 to ensure proper breakin. Once I get through the intital break in period miles you can drive it as much as you want

Actually once I am reasonably sure nothing is going to blow-up I will let people take it out if they promise to behave (i.e. not red-line clutch dumps, not powershifting, etc.) So that means Curt can't drive it J/K

Got the muffler yesterday and hoping that the cat comes today. Even if it doesn't come today, Aaron told me last night I could have his cat and give him mine when it comes it.

I am hoping to get it installed one way or the other tomorrow morning.

Well the bad news is that the Bell Eng. RRFPR is about 3 weeks away from being produced. So I decided to go with the Vortech SFMU as it has a few more features but costs a bit more, the bad news here is that they are expecting about 10 days before it is produced. I find it strange that no company keeps a stock of these items, it isn't like they take up much storage space. So my correctly working turbo has probably been delayed

Good news, Bottle w/ Powerhouse racing is selling the ACT street clutches for $370 plus about $20 for shipping. I am ordering mine this morning when his shop opens up.
