Sounds that way! Oh well. Could vf39 still work with a 2.0 engine?

1. Read the sticky threads....we have one titled Turbo FAQ and you need to read it about 32 times as you have no idea if you are afoot or horseback on this issue.
2. Where the hell in Maryland do you live? I can refer you to your closest Subaru-centric shop so they can screw your head on straight.

It most definitely could work. If the previous owner lied to you about that, you have no idea what else he could have lied about. You should find a local SUBARU SPECIALTY shop and have them inspect the car before you do any modding.

I will most definitely do that. My new question is... what kind of horsepower will I be looking at with my mods (except the sti block obviously) with a vf39?

With a tune you're looking at ~280 WHP.

Your prolly at 200-220whp now. Assuming it's tuned to some extent.

Wait, where did you see the EJ205 stamp? It will be all over the engine bay (drivers fender, heads, etc) you need to find the one one the block that will either say EJ205(2.0 WRX) EJ255 (2.5 WRX), EJ257 (2.5 Sti), EJ207 (2.0 JDM STi).

It was kinda behind the hose that comes from the top of the radiator.

with wrx block ej205, td04 and everything else wrx platform. you can put everything together, fire her up since your vehicle's computer is calibrated for td04 you can run it. but if you intend to use other turbo such as vf39, it would be best to have your tuner install that and tune it right after.
