Default Fuel problem

New to Subaru but not to cars. '02 impreza, 2.5L stock (so far) Sons vehicle. Been running good then died out like running out of fuel. Let the vehicle sit for 30 min and it will try to start, it fires a couple of times then dies. Removed pump and find it runs, replaced the filter (under the hood) no change. Any ideas will be appreciated. Also need recommendations for a GOOD manual, one that contains facts....

Possibly clogged or bad fuel injectors?

Just because the pump runs, doesn't mean it's good. You really have to check the fuel pressure with a gauge.
