Default New to Subies, and new to NASIOC

Gentlemen and the scarce ladies out there,

Excited to join the NASIOC community here as I purchased my first Subaru (2012, WRX) used with 9,000 miles on it this September. I have combed through many threads and have finally decided to reveal myself.

I came from a 2004 VW 2.slow Golf, I was a frequent browser over on vwvortex.

It's been two months now that I have owned my Subaru WRX, and I could not be happier. It absolutely hauls and the customization ceiling is through the roof. I am excited to make the WRX into my WRX as I move forward here.

So far I have really done two different "mods" if you even want to call them that.

Red Vinyls on the tail lights.

Yellow Vinyls on the fog lights.

Of course, white LED's in the interior and license plate.

I moved to Park City, UT this May after graduating form Penn State to work as an assistant golf pro at Glenwild and am now currently a sales rep for a ski/golf apparel company. First performance mods will be COBB Accessport V3 and some softer tires for the winter, hopefully Blizzaks.

Coming from VW, I did minor modifications but was always weary of actually diving under the hood. Hope to gain enough confidence to work on this baby myself.

Cheers,

JR

Welcome, I sure wish Subaru would have done the taillights like that from the factory. Keep up the good work on the modifications.

Nice WRX! Welcome!

I second that. Strut tower bars are a nice add on as well. If you go access port you can go stage 1 and if you ever need warranty work just unmarry the AP and its like it NEVER happened (personal experience)

You two do realize you can create your own threads and not jack this one, right?

I am thinking this weekend (with the sales and all on rally direct) of ordering the Tanabe GF210 Springs (while leaving everything stock, struts and such) and the Eibach front and rear sway bars.

I will tackle the air intake and accessport when the weather is nice again in the spring.

Thoughts? I am planning on going to 16" wheels for my snow tires .. think the drop in suspension and -1 wheel size will bring it too low?

Newbie - apologize in advance

Cheers,
JR

Also for some fun:

Off roading in Idaho by jackrosspga, on Flickr

Offroading in Idaho on the way to Sun Valley last week, and added Thule rack.

Debasing by jackrosspga, on Flickr

Also removed badges .. somehow I don't have a picture of the rear yet. I left the WRX and took everything else off.

Cheers,
JR
