Sounds like you're hitting full boost and it's normal for the waste are to flutter or "bang". Mine sounds like "banging". You will always get some flutter or banging maybe popping sound when using a 3port and not a manual boost controller.

The EWG is opening and closing to maintain boost levels.

if you go with the hybrid boost control the wastegate won't pulse with the PWM signal of the EBC solenoid.

Do you have a boost gauge on it? what is the boost doing when you hear this popping? if its staying stable, like others said its probably just the 3 port cycling and your wastegate dumping. I wouldnt say "banging" or "popping" would be a good word to describe how this SHOULD sound. If your boost is jumping around a bunch maybe the wastegate has got a sticky spot in it or you might be hearing compressor surge.

Edit: You should take a video of whats happening and upload it for some better answers.

If you have a Ebc then the sound is gonna be there. Especially with the grimmspeed ebcs.

Its just your ewg controlling boost.

Nothing to worry bout. Takes some time getting use to is all.

Copy the YT URL in a post and it should put a thumb nail up. If not the link will be there.

Now the wastegate sounds as if it is stuck open.. is it because the top port of the wastegate is vented? Running on 3port

I vent mine. Most people do or they plug it. You can recirc it after the Maf but before the turbo.

Yeah see mine never sounded like that. It would start screaming then have nasty pops like if it was backfiring harddd while accelerating in full boost. Now I hit boost and the wastegate stuck open.. so now it sounds like I got open downpipe at idle.

Fuel cut, knock? Something is more thank likely cutting your ignition or fuel or one other possibility is a boost leak that is not prevalent till higher rpms.
