Question Rally-X Setup Help

Bill,

Do you have course setup covered? Do you need any help? I'm going to try to get there some early, but I'm coming from a long way away so I can't guarantee anything.

I'll be there at 0600, and may have one worker comming at 0800. Any help is much appreciated, and just might have added perks... after all, I wouldn't want you to WALK to the back of the course to set cones...

Bud, I was thinking of leaving around 6:15 to get there about 7 - you want to meet up and show me the way?

Hey Bill,

I live on the north side of town and can meet you at the track whenever you want if you need help with the setup. Let me know.

Since I took the day off work and I get to work at 05:45 being somewhere at 06:00 is no big deal

Thumbs up

Dave,

Isn't there a Circle-K or something at Guadalupe and the I-101 (South of the 60)? If so, I could meet you there between 6:00 and 6:15. If I'm not there by 6:15, head on out and follow the directions posted on www.speedworldmotorplex.com.

I assume you'll be driving an RS. I'll have the red RS with the rally tires sticking out of the trunk.

I will meet you there also. I should be there somewhere around 6:00a. I will be in a white Impreza. But like Bud said, if I am not there by 6:15, just go on with out me.

Hmm... maybe one of us had better verify that there is a Circle-K there. My memory is known to be faulty.

I'll verify on my way home tonight from work.
If there isn't one there, I will let you know what is there.

Well, no Circle-K at that intersection. Just a Tae-kwon-do school in the North-West corner. We could meet there if you want. Or there is a Texaco at the Baseline/101 intersection in the South/West corner. We could meet there also.
What do you say?

The Tae-kwon-do school is easy find, that's probaby a good place to meet.

-Red

(I think I was thinking of the SE corner of Baseline & the 101.)

I'll see you there. Is anyone else really looking forward to this? Feel like a little kid with a new toy! I'm sure I'll mature some when the stopwatch is brought out though.

(wishing Peter Solberg knew how to drive 'coz my fantasy rally score was awful)

Cool

I've been jones'n to play in the dirt since the Prescott Forest Rally. I've had to satisfy myself with terrorizing my wife and dog on Sunday drives over bumpy desert roads. (I damn near took my front-end off last weekend with a water rut. Time to start saving for suspension upgrades.)

Yeah, I went up the Apache trail last Sunday to practice a little, half-way down Fish Creek Pass, a truck with a boat on a trailer had taken one of those tight bends too close and left the boat embedded in an overhanging rock (ouch). I was going slow down there tho, and after a while we got around him.

By the time I'd finished the road at Roosevelt Ram, I didn't dare turn around and go back in case one of the cars I'd overtaken took exception to me on the way back. Drove home the long way. <IMG SRC="http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/smilie/cool6.gif" border=0> I left the better half at home though, I'm a much nicer person with other people in the car.

It was reasonable - I left it a bit late to leave (9:30) so the first section up to Tortilla Flat was busy. Once the pavement ends, there's much less traffic, if I get stuck behind something I'll pull over and wait a while for them to get ahead of me, or sometimes I'll overtake if we're at one of the long straight sections.

My advice is to go early, and enjoy the scenery (take it easy) until you see the sheriff's truck (there's only one - always one) on that road. Once you're past him, all bets are off.
