Default Better than a new car (my new toy)

Got delivered yesterday. Brand new from Haas. Its got a 10 station turret, Renishaw probe , Renishaw tool setter, 4 axis, and it supposed to have the chip auger but it was left out for some reason.

The Haas guy is going to install one when they come out to set the machine up.

I have a lathe coming next week from Haas too

I can't wait to start making chips with the new machines. Anyone need some cool chit cnc machined??

Jealous! I worked at a machine shop for a year before I started at Boeing and I miss machining and having access to all the machinery. I only ever got familiar with the 3 axis Fadals we had and our awful Chinese-built 5 axis But I would really love to have my own machine today, nothing that big (maybe just a Bridgeport) but that's awesome!

Its been a while since I played with one of those. I've always wanted to get a mini lathe to make my own parts in my garage.

Nice, congrats man!

I run a 12' by 35' plasma table at a tank fabrication shop and thinking about buying a small version for myself.

Would love to start my own shop and cut my own parts. Jealous!

Thanks guy! Yeah, I am super excited. I have been using solidworks for about 7 years now and just started using the CAM add on suite called Solidcam. Its going to be awesome to be able to draw up a part, quickly generate tool paths then make that part.

I've got some contract work already lined up so the machine should pay for itself fairly quickly. Personally I have a 45acp AR15 lower design that I've been wanting to make so that will probably be my first "hobby" project. I may also machine some high flow TGV housings for my car.

The cool thing with machines like this there are endless possibilities to what you can make

Nice! I'm jealous. I make programs for cnc machines for a living. Never been big on solid works though. I use NX, mastercam, a tiny bit of catia, and smartcam.

Congrats
