What about the stock map... Is it lean as the 2.5 wrx to fit the US tree hugging law?

Seriously, what is it with all these people who think this car looks like any other car. Do you think a Lambo looks like a Ferrari? All cars look alike to some degree but this looks like a corolla, dart... bs is stupid.

Default Corolla with a nice engine

Engine looks beautiful, but it really really looks like a corolla. Old design looked better, but then again subaru does that, remember the bug eye.

I'll have to see it in person and in a different color before I judge this car...

Performance wise and numbers .. Great but looks are not the strong selling point on the car. It has the generic new style car look . Looks generic nothing rally or sports like other then the hood scoop . But hey who am I to judge

I mean..come on....nothing? really? Your average generic car has fender flares with a molded badge and air ducting (albeit non functional), aggressive lip on front bumper, low side skirts, quad exhaust, diffuser-integrated bumper....That's all generic? Generic should indicate it's all basic stuff found on your basic cars, right?

I guess it's just the overall shape and look it gives, I'm just throwing my opinion out there , if you like it and plan on getting it good for you , more power to you , personally not something i would pay that much for , again it's an opinion

Ugliest wheels I have ever seen. Cant even make them look good in black... Exterior rear is ugly. I can live with the front and the interior. They're not too bad.

I don't mind it either. All the "It looks like a......" comments are out of place. All cars from a single era have SOME similar characteristics, and subaru has integrated a lot of those that are popular today. Do I like it compared even to the 2012-13? Not as much.

But everyone will soon love and embrace it I'm sure. As for me, I'll keep my GC8 WRX and roll on.

What about an STi version? Is that coming as well?
I heard they are dropping the STI for 2015 and we will have to wait until 2016 to see if they bring it back.

Where did you hear that? There were test mules driving around with STi badges and a wing, and a leaked page on Jalopnik that straight up outlined all the 2015 models, including an STi.

I got that info from my dealership. They could be wrong. That's just what they told me. No hatch and no sti for 2015.

For some reason that red that they chose hides a lot of the body lines.

I think it looks a million times better in silver.

I wouldnt doubt it. Think about the 08 sti it was only a hatch. It takes subaru a few years to start making sense. I mean it took 2 years to put a hood scoop on the current impreza..

Kinda depressed it's not a sport compact anymore. They all look so tall and heavy...

How long until we can swap that engine into GD chassis?

Agree, looks much better in silver. I imagine black would look good too, but the front end overpowers the design. They really didn't do a very good job carrying the theme to the rest of the car. If they had, it would look exactly like the concept.

As to the possibilty of the STI not appearing in 2015, I don't have an issue with that especially if they were going to just carry over the EJ25 anyway, but I think they'll have a 2015 STI, dealerships are usually full of crap.

I remember the uproar when the GD was introduced. It was the ugliest thing ever and everyone wanted Subaru's design team to be taken out and shot.

I remember the uproar when the GR/GH/GE was introduced. It was the ugliest thing ever and everyone wanted Subaru's design team to be taken out and shot.

Now people fight over which GD is the most awesome car ever and the GR/GH/GE are totally wicked awesome bro.

It looks better than the current model impreza. Oh wait, this is a WRX? WTF were they thinking? Weren't they supposed to separate the models?

That being said, it's not the worst thing in the world to look at. I'm hoping Subaru pulls a 2009 and revamps it realizing how plain it is. The front looks far better than previous pics I have seen. The interior however is horrible. It actually looks worse than the current interior. The tachometer is horrible. I will forever miss the tachometer dominating the dash. It really seems like they are downplaying this car. Maybe the STI will be vastly better?
