She seemed more surprised I haven't completely grenaded my credit by now. Thanks, Mom.
I went through my Credit Union to get the loan, and I've been a customer of theirs for the past 5 years with one auto loan previously which was in good standing. My credit score is approx 700 and I thought I was getting a decent rate... I may have to look elsewhere to refi at a lower rate

Just to update, playing phone tag with a dealer right now, on the exact car I want. I'll have to get a rental car and spend a night in a hotel due to the LONG drive, but it should be worth it.

Just get a plane ticket and make the dealership pick you up from the airport. This is what my brother did when he found a LGT in Idaho, and I know my local dealership, Heuberger, picks people up from an hour away for free.

I drove down to Heuberger from Louisville to buy my Forester XT. ;D It was worth the amount of money I saved compared to buying from local dealers. If I knew that I would have asked for a ride instead of driving down there but that doesn't sound really true to be honest.

It's also worth looking into taking a bus. Sleep the whole way there and drive back, bang it out in a day. This is how I bought my last motorcycle, 6 hour bus ride and a 4 hour bike ride back.

Clint posts about it all the time on iwsti, it's pretty well known that Heuberger will cater to selling to out of state people, going as far as offering free rides from Denver. When I got my car they offered to pick me up from the bank I had just sold my WRX at :P.

They have some crummy sales people though there that have inflated egos.

Good luck on your adventure.
Picked up my 2013 Sti with nav, 33.500 sticker was 36,xxx had 7 miles atod
So a base should be in his budget.

Based on all the reviews I've seen on here, I'd love to buy the car from Heuberger. But I've been keeping an eye on their inventory, and they don't have the car I want. Subaru dealers seem to be of the mind 'buy something off the lot today or GTFO'

That seems to be a Subaru dealer thing.

I was originally in the market for a limited wrb sti sedan. I ordered it. And days later found the same car -roofracks being delivered to a lot close by. I arranged the deal like it was the last sti on the planet. My point is you can get lucky like me a find a "straggler"

If you're ordering a new car, Heuberger is pretty good. They'll cater to all your needs.

Their used car prices are insane though. I'm talking $38k for a 20k mile 2011 STI. And some of their used sales staff are dicks about it. They know they will sell them at that markup, so if you try to haggle price at all they will ignore you and pretty much tell you to screw off.

This is probably true of all Subaru dealerships though.

VIP Services informed me this morning that the car I was interested in has been sold. I'm trying one more dealer before I just give up on this whole damn process. I'm sick and tired of dealing with these ********. Whoever got JF1GV8J66EL002476, enjoy.

What's the next step in the car buying process? I'm trying to find a 2014 WRX STI in World Rally Blue. Absolute base model STI, no options.

None of the five dealerships around here even have an STI. How difficult is it to work with them to find one in another dealer's inventory and get it here?

Any advice appreciated, thanks!
You can buy my mint condition 2013 STi for 34,500 and be happy. Sure it's not blue but it's THOUSANDS cheaper!

Nah, really love both cars they are very different but both awesome. I live 1.5 miles from my office, and my wife works two blocks from me. It's hard to justify two car payments, and I know STi's resale well so I thought I'd put it up and see if anyone bites.

If not, then I'll keep her.

I'm going to do a comparison / writeup here in a bit, as I have the EVO broken in and I am able to give a good assessment of it.

Put it this way, if I had to buy a car right now, and I didn't have a car at all, I would buy the STi over the EVO.

But yeah, the beast is for sale and in mint condition! (check the private sale section, I put her up in there with pictures)

What trim level are you looking for? Do you want it shipped or would you fly to get it? I am in Denver and there are several STI in the area. Drop me a PM if you want some help.

All I want is a base-model STI 4-door in world rally blue. Dealers with the cars don't want to sell them, and dealers without the cars don't want to look for one.

It is a 5 hour drive. But it is the only thing remotely close to you.

Cochran Subaru in Pittsburgh will be getting one in one the sixteenth with navigation. I'm currently looking for a hatch in wrb, and having as much fun as you.

We will have a Plasma Blue Pearl that will be in stock mid month. I will do a search for you later today to see if I can find something in your area.

That's the one I'm talking to them about right now. It's supposed to be 'reserved for me' They didn't know the date, is there a way to tell?

I've seen a few hatches, all pretty pricey.
