Default XV Front bumper not fitting flush after re-install

This probably goes for Impreza11+ owners too.

Took off my front bumper once and when I reinstalled it I noticed that the corner of the bumper where it touches the corner of the headlight is not sitting flush. Anyone else have this problem?

Im guessing I may need to buy a new set of retainer brackets where the bumper connects to the fender. I think those clips got loose and are not grabbing the bumper tightly enough.

Look in behind and the clip may be bent down. I figured that out about the third time I took the bumper off.

Are you taking about the black clips on the retainer bracket on the edge where the render meets the headlight? Can you even move those? I checked and it looks like the corner is sitting a bit lower on my problem side. My passengers side is fine.

Went out to doublecheck and all the clips are in their place. The tooth in the bracket that holds the corner of the bumper is probably not as tight as it was from the factory..

The gap isnt that hideous and no one can really notice it except me. But my main concern is that the bumper does not vibrate when im driving down the freeway. Unfortunately this isnt something that I can view when Im driving. As long as all the tabs on the bumper are holding on I shouldnt have this problem right?

The black piece is an annoyance as well, but on mine it's the bumper itself that wants to flex and bind. It's the first clip nearest the headlight on the side part.

I actually just added a screw to that black bracket on both sides of my '11 WRX (same exact problem/mounting "system"). Now there's no more panel gap on mine.

That's pretty wise of you. Was the screw between the bumper clips and that black bracket?

How is the black bracket held on? It looks like its just 2 metal bolts from what I can see.

I ordered a new set for both sides because I think the problem is that when you pry the bumper off the first time it does diminish the holding power of the original bracket. Do you have to remove anything else to get to get enough clearance to replace the bracket?

My bumper is held on fine with all clips, but i think the bracket is sagging a little bit or the teeth on the bracket lost some of its holding power.

Here's my problem side. Can't really tell that much from that pic but the top part closest to the headlight bulges out a bit. The bracket that is holding the bumper on the inside sags a little too.

Here's a shot from further away. Its not as noticeable from a distance, but the fact that it is sagging is driving me nuts.
