I would not buy the Levorg even if it had the same exact specs as the wrx. It's ugly and looks like something a soccer mom would drive. The hatch on the other hand fits the sporty designation, and appeals more to those who want a wrx. The Levorg might do well as a true "Impreza" and I would consider it over the outback.

I wrote "most". Some are too insecure to drive a wagon. And apparently stupid enough to think it is something "a soccer mom would drive". No soccer mom drives a wagon. It's a minivan or SUV/CUV.

I would like to see them drop the sedan. Instead go to a 2 door or 5 door option.

Really enjoying our 2012 WRX hatch. Very practical for our needs.

If Subaru wanted to sell us a new one they would need to make it a hatch!

I dig the sedan for sure but Subaru should always have the hatch as an option. We all know both versions are SEXY.

When I was looking and bought my 2009 hatchback I had several dealers try to convince me to buy the sedan. The sedan just doesn't have the practicality I need in my car. I can't be nearly as comfortable letting my three dogs in the back of a sedan, nor can I stuff as much stuff into the back. So for me, no hatchback/wagon body style, no 2015 WRX.

I have owned a 04 sti in the past and now own a 08 sti(hatch). And after having a hatchback I can't go back to a sedan. But they both are great cars. Just my opinion.

Death to hatches!

In other news, sales trumps this itsy bitsy poll. Sales is what it is all about.

http://blog.caranddriver.com/crave-m...-a-auto-show/:
"The American market, which last year took 79 percent of WRX production, voted for the sedan and Subaru made a business decision based on the belief that the four-door offers greater sales potential amongst its hatchback-hating car buyers. We don’t know how the second-largest market, Australia, voted, or the third largest, Canada, but it doesn’t matter. The sedan got the nod and the five-door WRX goes off to hatchback heaven."

I know exactly how Australia voted (hi from down-under!):

Subaru Australia Managing Director "said he wasn’t concerned about the lack of a hatchback.

http://news.drive.com.au/drive/motor...120-2xvjd.html
"Ninety per cent of WRX sales are the sedan – always have been," he said of the 43,000 WRXs sold in Australia."
"

I have seen the list of options and seen that it says 4-Door only. I also know that Subaru has a solid 6-8 months before they're totally stuck with any design changes, as the 2014's are still hitting the market.

While all the evidence does clearly point to no Hatch, I'm going to hold off judgement until the vehicle is, you know, released. And who knows, maybe we'll get a hatch in 2016.

Please provide an article or study showing this. Not "At my local meet, it's 50/50". Because I see way more new hatches than I do sedans. Sure, maybe there's more sedans of previous generations, but the current model line up, I see probably 60/40 or more in the hatch version.

Speaking of sales, from a couple sentences above this quote in the same article (http://blog.caranddriver.com/crave-m...l-a-auto-show/):
Quote:
The bad news is that the five-door hatchback, which has accounted for half of WRX sales in the past, is being killed off.
So 50% of sales is pretty good, I think. I guess I will keep driving my 2003 WRX bugeye wagon with 203,000mi. Had really hoped for the 2015 hatchback to be the one.

Levorg reminds me a little bit of a Honda Odyssey from the rear angle. Wouldn't buy it based on CVT but the looks might be excusable if the car was ever for real in the US.

I'm certain that FHI will re-tool the factory based on the results of this poll.

I was very disappointed to hear that a hatch will not be offered. Guess I'll be keeping my 09 hatch for a while longer.

All things you can do to a WRX with money and/or resources. You can't turn a sedan into a hatch if you decided you wanted to.

The point I was trying to make was that Subaru could care less about NASIOC polls, as shown by the fact that there used to be a yearly petition here for Subaru to have Recaro seats here in the US ... It never happened.

Ringland threads up the wazoo ... No changes by Subaru.

Competitors putting out more power ... Subaru has had same power ratings for over 10 years on the STi.

I mean look at the results so far. Half the people want the hatch, and the other half don't really care.
