Where is the exact location of the avcs on the jdm ej20 if it has one? If my motor is a gc8 is it worse than the original ej20 my 02 wrx had?

What's jdm about this motor? I don't see any differences from a stock usdm ej205.

I was told it has a jdm wrx engine and this receipt was given to me but it doesnt tell the story unless im missing something. When i bought the car i didnt realize there was so many suby motor combos. The car runs perfect but i do plan on going further with mods than the catback and would like to know my exact motor. I saw some plugs at the top/corner of the head in the front and the back. Usdm censor?

It's a 2.0l subaru engine, what exactly are you planing on doing that its so concerning ? I don't see what the big deal is. If you want to know what injectors you have, pull them out and see for yourself. You can always take your car to a tuning shop and have them give you an assessment on what exactly you will need to reach your power goal. If your engine has avcs and you want to take advantage of that you'll need a Jdm ecu and a few wires. You can have it tuned with whatever turbo, injectors, pump and ebcs by a competent subaru performance shop, find a good place and pay them a visit. You'll have all the answers you seek.

I have ECS (east coast swappers) like 45 min away so maybe ill drop in. As for mods, i have a catback now but plan on doing catted down pipe, catless up, cobb intake, sti injectors, fuel pump, and either sti turbo or evo turbo with proper tune.

There is your ticket, go see those guys, have them take a look. In any case, your wish list is the average 280whp setup. Have the engine tested to make sure is healthy and go from there. Stop driving yourself crazy, get your car done, you'll love it. Good luck man.

The guy finally sent me a pic of the turbo that came on it. I think it might be a forester turbo?

i will. Ecu is the silver looking box? What ever the motor is his mechanic had to swap the intake over and some censors to get the car to run right. My info is vague since thats what i was told...

I bet your ecu will be the factory usdm that came original on your car. Somebody purchased a Jdm ej205, swapped the intake manifold and sensors necessary to make the long block work on your car with the factory electronics. It's a 2.0l motor, ej20, mystery solved.

Its a jdm99-01 ej205dxxxxxx engine longblock off a jdm wrxwagon. Same engine used in the usdm 02-06. With usdm intake and cranktiming puley and camgear swapped of the usdm old engine.
No avcs ej205/ej20x unlike the jdm wrx 02-07.

I know all the details i have them in stock and installing them every week.

USDM 06 is a 2.5l, so I think you meant same as 02-05 USDM...?

yes correct same CR , same as usdm 02-05

usdm 06-07 used a version ej255 but dressed with ej205 stuff intake turbo injector ....
jdm ej255 are dressed with sti ej207 stuff red intake, vf turbo , pink injectors and they are avcs.

I have a jdm ej255 forester sti engine if any of you need. also have the usdm ej205 no avcs for 02-05 or the jdm version of the ej205 with avcs. also have the ej20x/y with dual avcs....
