Question Fuel smell...

Hey guys, I know that the fuel leak and smell is common for 02's and 03's but I never realized until now (STUPID!) that there was a limited recall in 2010. I read that TX was not one of the states receiving the free maintenance but I have read from some Texas suby owners that they did get this recall fixed for free. Has anyone been lucky with this?

You can call our service department and ask (think we might be closed today though)

There is a write-up some where (Here) on how to do you it yourself. It's not that tough, just a pain in the ass. Not recommended to do it outside in the cold because it WILL take a couple hours.

Thanks Brandon for the suggestion. I'll give it a shot. I was hoping maybe there would be any Subaru employees in the Houston area though being that I am in College Station now for school. @EvilCerealBox, yeah that's the problem. I'm still in college so I don't have a garage...just the apt. parking lot lol.

I had mine covered when I took it in a couple of years ago. Call around and see what the dealers in your area say.

give a call to the dealer you want to work with to see what they'll do.

the associated fuel lines should be free. but due to the nature of the vehicle being older and near by vacume lines by have hardened, the dealer will not pay for those if they crack and break during the procress.

just give them a call and they should tell you anything you need to know

I just changed the passenger side myself last year. Luckily I had just put on a silicone inlet which makes it 10x easier.
