No, just need a DOT certified heltmet. If you don't have a helmet they have some there you can borrow. You just have to buy a helmet sock.

Head socks only cost $1. Unfortunately I will be in Austin for my little sisters wedding that weekend so I will miss that one.

I might bring out my new Miata. I really need new tires though. The fronts are some old cracked Pirelli's. I have a hard time figuring out how big I can go with the new rules in E-street class. I know you can go 1 size rim bigger which would get me a better selection, but I'm not sure how wide.

Edit: I guess you can go as wide as the rim will take on the tire but only on a 6" rim. So I guess I'll run some 205/50 zii's once i find a 15 x 6" rim option.

Thinking about it, just bought my subaru a month ago and haven't been out to one yet.

How often are autocross events hosted in the area? If it is rare then i'll probably go to this one.

There area five local groups and each races once a month, so there is usually an event every weekend from March until November.

The Porsche club is the most laid back club and about the cheapest. I have been doing autox with my 2010 WRX since I bought it, did the breakin during a road trip to Houston to do a race with a friend and haven't stopped.

Best way to spend $35 and a Sunday I have found.

Go to www.dfwautocross.com it shows a calendar with all the local events of the year.

The Porsche club is a fun group, and so is the NTAXS group.

Basically there are plenty of opportunities to have fun with your WRX!

I wish I had taken advantage of all the events up there when I lived in Bridgeport, it's nice to have clubs that do events on Saturdays. I'm down in the San Marcos area now for school and there are a good amount of events but Zero of them are on Saturdays and they are all SCCA classing and rules. I will likely have to drive up and join you guys on a Saturday event or several.

I'm looking at the calendar on www.dfwautocross.com and am considering the NTAXS autocross on March 8th, or the BMW CCA on the 15th. Anyone else interested in either one? I haven't been to an autocross since 2008 and that was in North Carolina so i don't know anyone in the area or which event is better.

Well NTAXS is full already... However, there is an SCCA event on the 16th of March that I'll be going to as well.
Never been to a BMW club event tho...

The BMW club is similar to the Porsche club and a lot of the people who run the ntaxs run the BMW events. I will be at the BMW club and Porsche club events this season.

I plan to make the SCCA event as well.

Sam, I think I will come out this Sunday just to watch and take pictures too. It's so close to me to NOT come out haha.

Do it, I don't know if I could go to am event and not drive but I am a full blown addict at this point.

Next meeting of autox anonymous is now officially scheduled for Sunday immediately following the Porsche club event.
