Default Another DP question- '13 wrx cobb AP

I was going to post in 2.5l forum but I don't have enough posts.

I was wondering how long I can run a stage 2 ots cobb map with a catless DP? I am going to get it protuned asap, but the shop I'm going to isn't open on the weekend. Is it okay as long as I don't thrash it before the tune?

I ran Cobb ots stage 2 for over a year with zero issues. SOME people get boost creep right away. It all depends on your car as every car reacts differently to modifications.

The stage 2 map, if you read the notes, is designed for any aftermarket down pipe. It is just specifically designed with Cobbs high flow cat pipe in mind. Will work for any. Keep a look out for boost creep although doubtful in summer. Skip the protune until you get more IMO.

Actually Cobbs notes state that the Stage II OTS tune is meant to be used with their or a similar catted DP. Sure you can run it with a cattless, but you may have boost creep, or you may not. Note however that boost creep can and will not be eliminated with a protune. It's a waste gate flow issue, not a tunning issue.

you're wrong Cobb does not and will not recommend running a catless down pipe on their OTS maps. some people seem to be ok doing it using the LWG or SLWG maps but many have problems as well. as for the OP's question in my opinion if you choose to install the dp and flash the stage 2 map I would stay out of boost completely until the protune. on another note which shop in the bay are you choosing to go with for your tune?

I have had catless on ots stage 2 map for 1500 miles on a 2014.
I downloaded the SLWG map, I hit 17lbs ok the high side, runs like a champ, wanting to add more to the car before paying for a protune.

How does your knock and fine knock learning look? peak boost isn't everything. are you boost creeping? have you logged in colder weather? Don't take this the wrong way I just strongly believe when running Cobbs OTS maps the map notes should be followed EXACTLY.

No boost creep. Did a little before I put the super low wastegate map on.
I can upload a log and let you take a look

How about knock? I'm no pro I just know the basics what to look for. your car might be running good that way. However the OP's car might run really bad with that map since that is not a supported mod for it. In my opinion it's not worth the risk. I think it's a much better idea for him to take it easy on the car until he gets his custom tune at EQ
