Default Stock wiper blades

Anyone else a little less than impressed with the stock wipers? The larger one usually seems fine actually, but the smaller one on the passenger side seems to get frozen up a lot in icy conditions and doesn't want to follow the contour of the windshield.

I hate to replace wipers that still have plenty of life in them, but I'm thinking about trying something new.

Rain-X wipers.

They're about $40 for a set, but worth every cent.

Yea, I just put the $$ rain-x ones on yesterday, I have NEVER spent that much money on two wiper blades EVER . I was less than impressed when any kind of ice was involved with the stocks but then the stock are fair weather blades. Advanced only had the rainx in stock, we will see how they do over the next day or so once the ice storm hits. I'm also not impressed with the defrosters either on the front, had to pull over a couple of times and let the windshield melt some but that could have been from the stock blades not cleaning correctly and getting packed up stiff with ice.. I would have been happier if I had found normal winter Anco flex sheathed blades like I normally use.

I will put the stockers back on in April or May.

I like them.
According to them the bosch 26" does not fit but the 24" does when the rainx 26" does..

+1 for the bosch. Affordable and lasts longer than other brands.

Yes, I actually ordered this Bosch wiper in the 26" length for the driver's side. It fits perfectly, even though Amazon's compatibility database says it's not compatible.

I have the 24" installed and it works for me, too - this was before I knew 26" was the correct length

I'm sure either length is just fine.

A big jump from the 13" blades on my wranglers for sure. When I pulled that 26 inch blade out of the tube I thought it was never going to end. LOL

Stopped at a store tonight but they didn't have a 26" Icon. I called around to a couple of places from there, no one had the combo I needed. I didn't really want to be outside putting them on in the 0 degree weather with high winds anyway, and I'd have felt bad letting an auto store worker do it for me tonight.

I'll probably go with Bosch Icons, but I'm looking into the Rain-x and Michelin too.

I use Icons on all of mine. I tried rain x and maybe had a bad set, but only effective for 1 summer then winter I had to replace it. I've been much happier with the Bosch blades personally. That's just me

Bought a set of Anco winter blades. They're supposed to be better in cold conditions, but the passenger side blade didn't even touch about half of the windshield. Buncha crap.

These ones http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009IK5PI?...=UTF8&psc=1&s=

Worked great in the rain the other day, but now it's actually cold out and I get nothing.

Maybe it was good they did not have them in stock on Sunday, I've used them for years on my wranglers but then those windshields are flat as a wall. That 26 inch Rain-x has the curve of a strung english long bow when it's off the windshield, curious to see how it cleans snow and slush off in the middle.
On my cheorkee the passenger side ancos always did miss the outside edge due to it's curve by the front pillar.

Picked up some Bosch Icons tonight. I finally found a store that had the right sizes in stock.

In reading other threads I saw there was some question about whether we need a 24A or 26A. Bosch's website says 24A, but I had read here that some people went ahead and got 26A and had no problems. I went with a 26A and I can confirm that they work fine. It will get slightly better coverage and it stays on the windshield throughout its travel, no interference or conflicts with anything.

I'll post again when we get some more snow to give a report on how they work in winter conditions.

The factory blade on mine is 25.5". So it's 2012 spec vs 2013+ spec. Both are right.

I was surprised when I measured mine, I did think it was closer 26.

What about the passenger side, mine is 14.5"

Yep. I replaced mine with Valvoline aqua 24" blade. and its a little short. there is a gap on the bottom that doesn't get clean. but its very minor, not a big deal. Next time, I'll get some with an extra inches than the recommended length.
