Default Clutch, what in the what???? 2013 WRX

I'm stumped....got a 2013 wrx, clutch feels fairly soft. Met my friend today, his is rock hard like a damn aftermarket. We both have bone sock 2013 wrx's base models. Why is my clutch soft and his so stiff (no homo)?

Try bleeding the clutch hydraulics. Both cylinders and the line. Yours might just have an air bubble in it.

From factory? Seems strange that it would be the case here. I'll probably give that a go this weekend.

How many miles to each of your Subies have? If you dont figure it out. Both of you should make an appointment to Subaru Service dept and ask them they same questions assuming you have warranty still.

Good Luck. My Clutch feels good still 17k

Mine is about 4k his is 12k. Both under warranty. He drives his car hard and I dont. I think he has even launched it a few times but said the clutch has been the same since he got it with 5mi on the meter. Mine had 192mi, according to the dealer the car was transfered 2 times and had to be driven to my dealer before I purchased it. Im guessing may be the employees put the pedal to the metal and the clutch didnt get broken in properly?

Some of us in DFW have the same thing happening. Between an 09, 11, 12 and 13 we have firm, firm, firm, and butter respectively. Granted the 09 also suffered total pedal mounting bracket separation from the firewall but that changed the engagement more than the feel of the pedal.

They get firmer with age. Yours is newer/less miles so yours feel softer.

I never heard of a clutch getting firmer with age and mine is still soft lol. I never took it to them decided to do my own oil and see what happens. If it falls apart - warranty. If not - I live with it.

The stock clutch in my 02 fozzy was firmer than the NEW stg 1 clutch in my RS..

I could drive the Fozzy around and jump in the RS and itd feel like nothing there...

Changed the clutch in the Fozzy... butter smooth....
