Quincy itself is very very small. Probably can drive from county line to county line in about 5 min. Not a bad thing at all, just a frame of reference.

In that area, it's lots of farm land and agriculture. Not much of anything else at all out there in terms of "city life."

You are smack in the middle of Seattle and Spokane. Which are the nearest large cities. Expect about a 2hr drive in each direction.

As for Wenatchee, I've got a number of co-workers that have grown up there, and still have family there. They go there often, and seem to be well grounded in their personalities. Thats about all I've got about that area. Oh, Hwy2 from Wenatchee is a fun drive.

Washington in general is a great place to live in my opinion. I've been all over the world, and Washington is home. Not too hot, not too cold, just right.

Where are you going to be working?

i would be working in quincy for yahoo.

is the gang stuff ive read about as major as they portray it in the news articles? or is it more just a minor occurance seems major in such a laid back place? take into consideration i currently live and work in the metro d.c. area and have my whole life so crime/gang stuff isnt foreign to me by much. i am definitely keyed in on that as it pertains to my sons future in the area as well.

Where you will be moving its probably a whole lot less of a bother then it would be in say Seattle or Tacoma. I think you have nothing to really be worried about in regards to gang related issues.

You'll see the gangsters in the grocery store and stuff but if you don't associate with them it's not a big deal. I'd consider moving to bigger town like Moses Lake or Wenatchee. It will be around a 45 min commute, but no traffic easy highway miles.

Outdoor activities and hunting are excellent in that area. If you make the move hit me up and I can fill you in on a few good spots.

Most of the gang activity in that area is just the local mexican kids trying to be tough. Like Camip said, it's not a big deal. The bonus being if you rally or rallyx and your car number is 13, a free paint job would be an easy score.

I used to work at the Microsoft DC in Quincy and did the drive from Wenatchee to Quincy daily.

The gang stuff is pretty overrated but, I've never lived in Quincy. Bunch of teenagers trying to act hard or immature idiots fresh out of their teens.

Leavenworth/Cashmere/Wenatchee are nice areas though. I live north of Leavenworth in Plain.

Good stuff guys please keep the info coming. And if I do make the move many pms will be headed out.

So far I seem to like the ellensburg, cle elum areas as well as most of the others mentioned. Not really interested in living in quincy does look and sound a little lame for living.

Love Cashmere, Leavenworth is fun, Wenatchee is pretty nice too. Spend weekends on the Wenatchee River in the summers. Get yourself a Whitewater kayak, a snowboard, and a mountain bike and you'll be set. Good BBQ in cashmere, good food/Beer in Leavenworth.

Also if anybody can give me some insight on the rat rod/chopper scene in the state hopefully near area. We are into that pretty majorly as well. Cool Bars music scene that would fit.that type of personality as well. Just trying to start looking into things to do besides wilderness activities to give the wife as much cool stuff.to check out as possible and help her get on board.
