Post New Springs / Denver meet

Since the last one was kind of a bust - here's the new thread on organizing the new one.

My suggestion: let's all meet at an auto-x. Either the one this weekend or the next one.

It may be too short notice, but I'm down for a meet this weekend or next. I hope this can get worked out. I met a bunch of people last weekend and can't wait to meet even more Subie heads.

The next autocross is Sunday the 18th at Coors Field. Perfect idea for a meet THe last one did go to hell, I agree, but it was fun hanging out with Brian, and Mike at the autoshow and then hanging at JCS (I showed up around 7pm).

I may need a car to co-drive on Sunday. Emphasis is on MAY. Don't ask why , I'll post details on the board later. Any takers if I infact do need one? For those of you without race rubber- what a perfect way to see what some race rubber will do on your car

JJ,

It was great lunching and hanging with you at the show on Saturday! Thank you for doing the homework on sorting out the parking and lunch thing. It made all the difference to me not to have to even think about those things.

This weekend may not work out for me, but if I can I will try and make the autox.

As we found out last year, autocrosses are the best places to meet. There's just too many weekends tied up with autocrossing to have Subaru meets on top of that.

So even with a new batch of people, this group never changes...

Well, lets meet at this auto-x, and the first auto-x of the season (April 22nd, Sunday). I know Larry can't come to Sunday auto-x's.

You know, let's just make these meets a continuing thing. Every auto-x, we'll meet. How's that sound? That we won't have to mope around thinking of a place to meet every month or so? The less time we spend thinking about meeting, the more time we will have for quality meet time. Hehe, that sounded weird.

My 2 cents.

Cool

HEHE, I will be there with my Yellow WRX as long as it gets to valley Subaru on Friday like it is supposed to. Probably wont race due to the low low mileage that it will have but I could spend all day Friday & Saturday driving a thousand miles & race Sunday! What time do they start the walk around in this region? I have only ran in Oklahoma & Texas(not from there I am a Denver NATIVE).

I'm going to be at the auto-x this Sunday driving my car testing out the production version of the chromoly rear strut bar.

YES JJ - that means YOUR bar! HEHEHE. Bar will be yellow-zinced next week. You will have it in your hands next week.

Later,

Tom,

Just a thought, but you'd probably be able to quantify the effects the sway bar has after you've auto-x'd once without it...

I think a snow-x would be more fun...besides all the subies would whopp on everyone else Besides, the snow tires are going on tonight after work-partly because of the forecase, partly because of the rally-x on the 25th!

Tom,

About the start times, I *think* that they're planning on moving up an hour, maybe I'm wrong though. I'll be showing up in the late afternoon-I've got some serious skiing to do this weekend.

What's the story if you just want to come and watch. I'm not registered in the SCCA yet, mainly because of a lack of a car to drive (girlfriend not too keen on me driving her '00 RS). I just want to come and watch hang out, etc.

Costs nothing to watch. People may watch for free

Is it kind of boring to watch? Yes. But, at least you get to watch cars spin out and stuff. Also, you get to look at some very nice looking cars. The first auto-x I went to there was a Dodge Viper GTS that ran... WOW! Nice car...

Too bad the Viper is more of a Gran Touring car then a parking lot race car. It's all high-end... Oh well.

That is why my plan is to run my first run without the strut bar, then for the second or third run, I will put the strut bar on.

Ya, next parking lot race is at coors fields. Same registration and start times.

I hope it doesn't snow...

EDIT - just checked weather.com. Supposed to be partly cloudy and 51 degress on Sunday. Didn't see any low pressure systems on the way for Sunday. Most snow and rain will occur late this week (Thurs, Fri, Sat).
