Default Opportunity for free AEM intake

This pertains to southern california residents only:
I work for AEM and I have been asked to design an intake and other parts for the 02-03 Impreza 2.5L. I am looking for a volunteer to let us use their car for about 2-3 weeks while we design and test intake systems. In return, the volunteer will receive a FREE intake kit for their car after it has reached production. The vehicle is totally covered under our insurance policy while in our posession. A rental can be aranged if needed.
We are located in Hawthorne, CA (L.A. area).
Take a look at our web page (www.aempower.com) and you can see how many applications we have. For over 2/3 of these we have borrowed peoples cars for development.
If you think you are interested, or have any questions, please call me at: 310-484-2322 x.255.
Thanks
-Aaron Suchy

There's a 2.5L? I thought it was a 2.5 RS Anyways, I'd love to give up my 2.5RS for 2 weeks for a free intake, but I'm on the other side of the country. Good luck, I'm sure someone else would love to fill the spot.

He meant 2.5 liter idiot, as in 2.5RS or 2.5TS.

Won't the GC8 intake fit the new age body style too?

I'm with you, that was my first thought...

and yeah, why do they need to make a new intake when the old one works?

if it seem too good to be true it prolly is, but then again i am very reluctant to leave my car with any sort of "performance company" after seeing the lack of restraint showed when a friend had a car i put together aligned.

we are going to test the fitment of the older moldel short ram system and also look at the pheasibility of designing a new cold air system. If it looks do-able, then we will do it.
If there are some people on the edge of deciding whether or not to loan us their car, then maybe I can convince you....
We had a miata in here about amonth ago, we were tuning it on the dyno when all of the sudden it lost compression in the #1 cylinder. After taking the head off, we foind that the #1 piston was cracked down the middle. Without hesitation we bought the customer a brand new crate engine from Mazda and installed it. Was it our fault the piston cracked? probably not, but whats more important is keeping the customer happy.
Another story. 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R spec. V, hood got a minor dent. We bought the customer a brand new carbon fiber hood, he was stoked. We take of our customers.
If you are thinking about it, give me a call and we can talk.
Thanks guys.

Hey, this is a bit off topic but did the old model short ram ever get a CARB certification? Been waiting to get that sticker for quite a while, and I know there are others wondering the same thing.

Let me get this straight. If I go beat on my car enough to crack a piston, pound a hammer on my hood and then give it to you for 2 weeks...I'll get it back with a new engine, CF hood and an AEM intake..Where do I sign up? hahahaha....I'm only an hour or so from you guys, wish I could help but I couldnt be without my car for that long.
Good luck on the Intake.

Hey Aaron, I am Ryan from Car Parts F/X in NJ.
Our sales rep is Kirk, The short ram from the 00-01 models work with zero modifications on the 02-up. Designing a cold air would be great. I talked to Kirk about coughing up a short ram for my car ( since I have a Cobb intake installed ) to get one of your intakes in my car ( we are an autorized dealer ).
Im gonna talk to him out in Vegas to see what he can do for me again, BUT!!!!!!!!!! If you wanna cough one up for me hint hint,
Otherwise I'll chat with you out at Sema

Sounds very tempting, and your going to develop a CAI. What would be the dates that you would need my car? If you could just give me some more details.
