Default Need some quick help: Need to borrow a set of stock rims w/ tires and stock exhaust

Car failed MD inspection due to two tires that are chunked (autoxed on my all-seasons) and the muffler isn't stock Anyone close to Bal'more have a set of rims handy with tires that are in good condition and/or a stock muffler lying around the basement. My temp tags run out tomorrow so I'd like to try and sort this out tonight if at all possible. I'll return the stuff the next night.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey - you bring me a case of beer, and you can borrow my WRX stock wheels with fresh RE92's, and my stock WRX exhaust - I live right near Bob O, and the stuff is in my shed. Just don't chunk my crappy RE92's..

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the help.

It's a MY99 RS so a WRX exhaust won't work but wheels/RE92's will. The temp tags run out tomorrow and I have to leave for business on Thursday for a week so unfortunately I'll have to buy another 15-day tag and deal with this when I get back.

Blaster, I'll probably take you up on the exhaust and Basil on the wheels (name you favorite kind of beer guys).

I'll PM you guys later next week and figure out the logistics.

Thanks again,
Tony

Damn, just realized Basil and Blaster both live 1.25 hours North and South of me respectively. I've got some driving ahead of me.

Tony -

I'll talk with Tai Chih - I might be able to get the exhaust up there by early next week.

Tony if it takes you an hour and a half to get to Reston you are driving too slow!

Tony, I can bring my RS exhaust (you just need the muffler right?... I have the midpipe should you need that too) to work with me, I work right in Towson (Black & Decker on Joppa Road). Your in Bel Air right? I can meet you at like Whitemarsh or something. I also have the silencer for my Apexi N1 that you might be able to use with the magnaflow to pass noise. I just want the muffler back when your done.

Let me know, I could have it here next day.

Thanks guys ('cept for Evan for telling me I drive slow twice). Looks like I'm more screwed over than I thought. My temps run out today and they won't give me another (feel the love from the MVA). My current plan is to head to Rallispec right after work since they have both and exhaust (Imp L) and a set of snowies on steelies I can borrow. That is unless I can coordinate with Bob O. and Basil to meet up with them tonight (I'm PMing you guys to find out).

I've got a 'reinspection' appointment at 7am tomorrow morning and hopefully since they already did the driving portion of the test they won't give me flak about the tags. Knowing my luck I'll get pulled over 1/2 mile short of the MVA...

I could do tonight. Best if it's later though as I usually don't leave work until 6, ~45 to get home, and then another ~30 before I could get back to Shrewsbury (assuming it would be the best meeting point for me and Basil). It's the first exit on 83 in PA. Or we could meet at my place should you not have a garage to put the stuff on. Whichever.

Bob,
Thanks, if I could borrow your garage to install the exhaust I'd appreciate it, otherwise I'd have to do it in the dark behind my townhouse in the cold (that sounds bad ). I wouldn't want Basil to lug 4 wheel/tries to your place just for me to install so I'll probably just pass by his place on the way up and install the tires then head up to your place. This is all if it's okay with Basik (Kirk). I'll call him now.

Bob,
Thanks but looks like I don't need the exhaust See other thread on exhausts not legal in MD, this is classic!

You still heading to the 'spec to get the spare rims and tires?

Just make sure they dont check your greencard during the re-inspection.

Not going to the 'spec. Kirk (Basil) is renting me a set of WRX wheels with RE92's for a case of Newcastle and the drive is a lot shorter.

Thanks to Kirk (Basil) for the WRX wheels/tires, thanks to Blaster and Bob O. for offering an exhaust. No thanks to the MVA and the local inspection place
