This is Tim. I had a blast yesterday guys. I'm still chuckling at how nobody believed it was my 1st autoX. I'm the original owner of my car and have plenty experience with it, just not autoX'ing.

For all of you who are timid to run...don't be. That is the place to push your car and see what its made of.

Cant wait to see you guys next month
Yep I'm Ryan and it was good meeting you as well Tim! Your STi is a beast!

Thanks bro and yours makes me miss the boxer rumble lol I couldn't go back after the twin scroll setup though. Having a 60lb/min turbo setup on 93 spool like a stg2 sti on e85 is naaasty I want an e85 tune after seeing the Raceway gas station having e85. I need bigger injectors though. I'd max out my ID1000's at around 450whp from what I've seen. I'm already damn near there on 93 :/

Here is my post from my iwsti journal:

My weekend was extremely fun. I went camping with my son and his fellow cub scouts Fri/Sat. I packed up and got home around midnight last night. I put my Go Pros on the chargers and went to bed. I woke up at 6am to get ready and wait for my friend in his 08 evoX to show up. He arrived around 7:15 and we filled our tires with air and set off for the event. We were over halfway there (about 40min out) when I realized I forgot my cameras!!! :censored:

We arrived on sight around 8:45. we enrolled in the SCCA, got teched in and started unloading our cars. I bought some shoe polish to find where my contact patch was on the tires so I marked them and lowered my tire pressure to 40psi all around after talking to a very experienced evo driver parked next to me.

We waited until around 11:30 to start the event. I didn't realize what time the heats started :/ Oh well. Here are alot of the vehicles aside from the crazy go-carts:

There were 4 heats: 1/3 & 2/4. If you weren't racing you were working the course. My second heat I gave my friend a ride since he was just spectating and my times were garbage. That 220lbs matters!! I was sliding like crazy! The car wouldn't rotate the way it was without him and I'm sure alot of it was me trying to give him a good ride but I was punching it out of the turn and felt like I was spinning all the way to the next turn. Here is my fastest run:

Outside of car view: coming tomorrow

Sideline view:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laSdVQq-eSg

On my last run I pushed the car wayyy too hard and I ended up taking a souvenir (cone) back to the pit with me lol It was stuck under my sideskirt :P Go hard or go home!

We finished up with cleaning the site and handing out the trophies and were out of there around 3:45. I had such a blast today talking with everyone. I'll be doing it all over again 27 Apr

Just to clarify, there are two airports in Lake Charles. The auto-x is at Chennault. If I'm not mistaken, the next three events will be at Chennault.

Yeah, I've never seen anyone call out someone's car class at local events. Maybe at tlac, regional, and national events. Don't even worry about class unless you plan on doing this all the time. The raw time is the only thing that matters, IMO.

True, still cutting a few ounces of weight and your dumped into another class is just crapy. Oh well, I plan on attending the next autocross I just need to do my timing belt.

Mark, what size sways are yiu running? I was looking into 27f/24r whitelines. My car rolls BAD in the turns. Didn't understeer as bad as I had thought it would be that roll definitely transfered alot of the weight and caused me to slide more than I'd like to.

Things to fix in order imo

1. Tires
2. Driver
3. Driver
4. Suspension

I upgrade my FSB for DS class and tbh I barely notice anything and that was on 25mm on "stiff setting"

My tires were the biggest things i noticed that reduced my times. Most of the stock 11+ wrx were running top 15 Raw and top 10 Pax at Delta/Cenla

During the events I attend: Ian for a long time was AS 06 STI with R Comps and ran low numbers he was typically top 10 raw. When he bought slicks he was 1st raw almost every time lol

But now you get to run with Mark and myself. That is if I finish the STI by then.

I have Dunlop Star Specs and I think I have a good driver mod...I won 1st in SM with the fastest fendered car out there so that leaves me at the suspension. Suspension and chasis bracing is all that is left to mod on my car. I've beat m3s and an audi r8 on the nurburgring while I was stationed in Germany. I'm definitely not new to racing but that was my first autox

Nice, those Audi and BMW drivers scared to drive their cars? Lol. I've only been to hockenhiem and bitburg. But was in my friends srt4.
