Post CEL Dumb Question?

I just registered on I-club today. I was told that I could find a solution to a p-0420 code causing my cel. Obviously I'm a little behind on the TXS tech talk. So here's my deal. Stage 2 TXS Unichip, filter, Catless turbo back and an annoying cel. I read threw a lot of the forums and the UTEC seems to be the best solution, however, I'm looking for the alternate (financially suitable) solution. I think this subject has been beat to death before, but like I said I just got here.

Welcome to the i-club! Now to answer your question:
The UTEC will not eliminate the P0420 (Cat System Efficiency Below Threshold CEL). You can choose to turn the CEL off with the UTEC so as not to be annoyed by it, but codes are still stored in the ECU until they are cleared. To eliminate this CEL cheaply go here: http://www.ponyexpressperformance.co...liminator.html

As an aside, you can use the Search function on these forums to look up a ton of info on a variety of topics.

How and where in the UTEC do you turn this off?

1. Go to Edit Maps
2. Go to Parameters
3. Go to User Constants
4. Go down to CEL (Disable = 0; Normal =1)
5. Change it from the default of 1 to 0

Your CEL will now turn off a few seconds after you start your car. If you get a new CEL, the light will not turn on, but the code will be stored and can be retrieved via the OBD2 port.
