Post ??Where are the Utah Scoobie owners??

Just wondering how many or how few, how active or how inactive us Utahns are here. Colorado dominates this board, but hey we are part of the Rockies as well. It would be nice to see some good ol fashioned charm here.

BTW~ Any recomendations of a performance shop that could work on my WRX in the local area?

Planned mods are:

better air intake
turbo back exhaust
ECU
Boost Controller
bigger IHI turbo ???

There are at least a half dozen of us that regularly attend and participate in SCCA events as well as misc other activities. We're pretty active, you could say.

We've got 4 RSes, one WRX, one Impreza with an EJ22T and my Legacy Turbo, plus some non-subie peeps.

Modern Garage is our preffered shop, as they seem to do the best work for good prices.

Thumbs up

When I get back into town (Monday the 14th) I will be in the Holladay area for bit, while me and my girlfriend look for a place in the SugarHouse or University area. I'll be running around in a my01 Black RS sedan with a roof rack full of crap for now. If you see me, say hi. It will take me a while to get back on the i-club, but as soon as I can I will be inquiring about the next meet/event.

Hey now, there are more than just 4 RS's. There are two of us active gents out here in American Fork. One of which is a soon to be turbo .

I agree on Modern Garage. Christian is very enthusiastic about working on the Subies. I think he is fairly excited to build the downpipe for my car just to see a turbo EJ25 in action.

OTOH, I think the collective knowledge between us all can get just about any modification done in a garage; just ask.

Hey Stimpy, I think DLC was just saying 4 RS's that are on here and come racing. When are you going to get some tires so you can race too.

Hey DLC, don't you have a link to some pics of the Utah Subaru/ARG! meet at Modern Garage? I would be shocked if you didn't.

Just got my clutch put in yesterday. Picked it up this morning. Stock clutches blow chunks. It feels like I don't even have a clutch, kind of like my mom's old Hyundai Excel

Highly reccomend A&C Automotive for any kind of repair or maintenance work you might need done on the WRX if it isn't covered under warranty. But for upgrades, I would suggest Modern Garage. http://www.moderngarage.com

We don't need no stinkin' tires!

Actually, I should have tires by the 18th. I am checking my finances, then placing an order for my tires at a local performance shop. It should be about $320 for 4 205/50 kumho 712 shipped.

I think Scoobyslack wants to make it a yearly thing, so that would put the next meet in about 10 months.

We should definately get something going on a regular basis so we can do respectful track days on the new track being built. We might as well start a good "friendship" between ourselves as well as the VW/Audi enthusiests. The more people involved the better. Prices are usually cheaper, and you get people from all age groups and backgrounds involved.

-Justin

Edit-ps-I am working on getting my screenname changed, I won't live in Eugene after Sunday. Just a heads up.

That WRX owner's name is Yanni (like the piano player) I think. He lives in Park City. So he doesn't count Seems like a pretty nice kid though. Haven't ever seen him out racing before (that could explaine the wreck).

How about another meet in June...say the 9th? There are no out of town races that weekend that we would go to and it gives us a few weeks to get people to show up.
I know a few that weren't there.

Lets get some feedback on this.........

Christian got the red Subaru from a guy I used to work with that has a CRX with a turbo Integra engine in it. The car is a Subaru Standard. Not a Justy, not a GL, just a Standard. It has no A/C, I don't think it even has a stereo. It has a push button starter though.

June sounds good to me for another meet.

And yes Stimpy, yu talk too much too
