It seems like they don't want to share any info on the fitment.

Um, no they won't share.
They are a vendor, why would they give that info away.
They bought new racks, spending their time and effort to figure this out so they could SELL retrofit kits.

Oh really... They spent their time and effort eh ? Lot of R&D behind it.

Not asking them to hand out free racks or kits. There is no secret to share here. It is a matter of someone getting their hands on the rack and GD crossmember. Since they already have it they can give some fitment information for the sake of the community. Unless all they think about is making profit.

There are couple unknown things for the GD fitment.

- steering U-joint fitment
- passenger-side bushing fitment
- Total length of the arms (2015 is longer and we don't know if swapping GD tie rods fix the problem)

Possible items in their kit

-A spacer for the elevated driver-side mount + longer bolt
-Bushings
-Shorter tie rods (unless people can reuse their GD tie rods to shorten the total length)
-Maybe modified U-joint

Ding Ding Ding!!!!

You just said the magic word, profit.

From what I know of the company, they have a good reputation, but I would never assume any business to hand over any info.

Like I said there is no company secret here to reveal. This is a straight forward modification. If I could get my hands on a rack there would already be a "how to" thread.

First, we have not had a chance to do anything with one of these racks yet. The first car it will go into will be our 2014 WRX race car, and I honestly don't know when that will be. It is entirely possible that it won't be until winter.

After that, we will most likely try to put one in a GD and see how that goes. Before we know what is involved, or if a kit is even possible I can't speculate on a kit price, or how much we would reveal, etc.

Only time will tell.

But we will do our best to support our community that supports us. And for the time being, that is by getting a couple of these in so that people that are anxious to try to put one of these racks in their cars can have a chance to do so.

When we put the rack in the PPIHC car, we'll let you know how that goes and go from there.

FWIW, 2 of the 4 of us here have GD's, so we are anxious to see if we can make it work, we just haven't had the time yet...

Sadly I'm out of the running for GD fitment, as I'm selling my 2011 and canceled the rack order.

I know someone on rs25 was able to modify his ujoint to fit the sti rack. I'm sure the same can be done to make this fit.

The squishies!!

This is what the stock passenger bushing looks like now. This is just after 1500km!! yikes! It's very soft! It's not the same bushing at all, well, it's the same but you know what I mean. You can really tell that these Subaru bushings soften up quite a bit once broken in. The Super Pro bushing is now installed. I don't know what I was smoking when I decided that the Super Pro bushing wouldn't fit. I looked back at the measurements and there really is a difference. Once installed and torqued in though, there's no overlap. The Super Pro passenger bushing fits perfectly.

So, accept my apologies, but you all have to order a steering rack bushing set now!! I highly recommend it in order to great the true feeling of the new ratio!

Read up the entire thread on iwsti, couldn't find any info pertaining to swapping the rack into a WRX. Can anyone clarify if the '15 sti rack will swap into the '11-'14 WRXs?

Noximus, i think same thing will happen to the aftermarket bushing. Seems like there is a gap where bracket seats on the crossmember and anything that can stretch will fill and deform like that.

Polyurethane bushings don't really stretch though?

He's got a GR, those don't have the "square" passenger side mounting point like the early GDs do. It should be a direct match, just a bushing failure IMO.

edit: kinda looks like the bushing was pinched on install.

It's quite possible, maybe over torqued by the tech? Idk.

You can't really screw up the positioning or orientation as the stock bushing is glued into place with 3m double sided tape.

Well....I've ordered a rack. So I guess that's the first step for the install on the GD.

I'll probably end up fabricating an adapter bushing for the passenger side and tracking all of what's required for an 02-04 (WRX) subframe. It won't be quick though. Worst case, it will end up being a winter project.

Expect a semi-detailed write up once all is said and done.
