Post Autox this weekend at Coors Field.

Here's the info. I don't want any excuses for you not being there!

The next Winter Series event is this coming Sunday, February 25, at Coors
Field, Lot B. Gates will open 7-ish and we will close registration and tech
at 9:30. Remember to enter through the 27th Street gate, not Park Avenue.

A rookie walk-through of the course will begin at 9:15 with the driver's
meeting at 9:30-35 and the first car off by 10:00 - 10:15.

To ensure we get started on time, be there by 8:30 or so to give yourself
time to walk the course - but we will accept you as late as 9:30.

Gate opens: 7:00
Tech/Registration
closes 9:30
Rookie walk 9:15
Driver's Meeting 9:30 - 35
Launch first car 10:00
Entry Fee $35, $30 for SCCA members (membership will be verified)

As usual, you need a Snell 90 (or later) helmet. Loaners will be available
but we don't have an unlimited supply, so if you have a brain bucket--bring
it. Note that this year the minimum standard is Snell 90, not 85.

Food is not available at the site, although there is a fast food outlet/gas
station on Park Avenue just west of the Park Avenue gate.

Remember, no event is worth having an accident. If the roads are lousy,
stay home and drive another day.

Dress for cold and windy and hope for sunny and calm.

See ya'll on Sunday.

I won't be at the AutoX this weekend.

Reasons:
1 - Tires. I'm not racing on winter tires
2 - Winterdrive.com. 4hr drive to Steamboat

Post

[Cross post to SPCR]

Some of you wont care or will wonder why I am sending this email, but I
wanted to say this.

My wife and I are tired of me missing church on Sundays for autocross and cars and stuff. It would be nice if more events were on Saturdays so that people can worship in church, but I figure 5 Saturdays is still pretty good. Also, I will be running handicapped on street tires in SM so I won't put more stress on my tranny with very sticky tires, since I am on my third rebuild in under a year.

So, I will do one autocross event a month (every saturday event), plus the three day national tour in August. In the two months where there is no Saturday event I will autocross on Sunday (March and Sept). For you Scooby guys, I also will plan to attend the Colorado Springs SPCR/i-CLUB meet on 3/10/01 at Garden of the Gods at 11:00am. So, my schedule looks like this:

I will to do the 6 Friday/Saturday autocrosses on:
4/21 coors field 27th st lot
5/26 PPIR parking lot
6/16 coors field
7/28 coors field
8/10 friday National tour location TBA
8/11 saturday National tour location TBA

Then only 3 sunday's I will attend:
3/4 world arena (might skip this winter event since I wont have my summer
street tires on yet)
8/12 national tour - location TBA
9/23 coors field

And skip 7 sundays, including:
2/25 coors field
3/18 coors field
4/22 coors field
5/27 PPIR
6/17 coors field
6/30 coors field
8/26 coors field

I have 6 free tires to give away locally -> Four used 225/50x15" BFG R1's that Bob Klingler gave me (only one tread visible = 40 laps at second creek), and two 205/50x15" BFG R1's (in much better condition) that Seth Frader-Thompson gave me. Four of the 205's have already been corded at Second Creek in 45 laps and tossed, and the 15" wheels have been successfully sold already.
Email me and I will bring the remaining tires to the World Arena Event, or
you can pick them up from me before then...
