Greetings all 08-10 wrx owners! I need your input ASAP! I have acquired funding to start the build and production of wide body fender flares for our cars here in Tulsa Oklahoma USA! I'm going to be ordering some fat wheels/tires next week and starting the project with my09 WR Blue premium sedan. I need your input please! I need 2 things from 08-10 owners: 1- What would you like to see for our cars? I want your thoughts. 2 - Post pictures of other cars with flares you'd like to see on your car. I will try to accommodate everyone's good tastes. This thread is all about getting a collective of ideas to start putting this project together. I have already spoke to NASIOC officials and when the time comes I will register as a vendor and offer the actual finished product for all! Until then please share your ideas. Thanks all for your input! Pics update: 08-10 wrx wide body fender flares will be ready for production soon! More to come soon. Next will be a nice front bumper mod for FMIC folks!

id love a carbon rear exhaust finisher for the 08-10 sedans. all i find out there is for the hatches and newer widebody sedans. even if it were a whole diffuser.

Oh, they will look good!
I hope to have one side done in the next few weeks so I can show pics.
But first would like to get others opinions and pics of what they like before I start.

Just let me know if you run across any pics you like.

Thanks!

Agreed!
I'll have to look into a nice rear diffuser as well.
My stock diffuser is just boring

As soon as I have the sedan flares completed I'll be doing the hatch.
Shouldn't require much work to modify a mold for the hatch.

I saw this thread, looks like there's lots of interest but I'm not waiting for some euro product.
I'm actually going forward with this project and look forward to making a great product for all to enjoy!
Any ideas or pictures of a product you'd like to see for our cars will be greatly appreciated!

Not sure what I expect from these flares since I havent really thought of getting them in the near future. maybe something like the karlton flares? For sure something different from the wide bodies and thats clean but aggressive at the same time.

I'm thinking old school Z style or a little more aggressive version of the karltons to give us
2 1/2 or 3 inches more clearance.

Haha!
I hear you man!
A good flare option could help motivate the project along

This is a good example of what I have in mind, just a little less flare towards the bottom and an smooth transition into the existing skirts. A simple easy to install rivet or adhesive design. Those who are interested keep in mind some cutting of the fender and wheel well will be required the flares will be designed for easy install after proper cutting and sealing

Thanks for the input.
I thing the karltons are a little small for our narrow bodies and the speed flare pictured above seem to be too much towards the bottom of the flares going into the wider skirts.
I'm thinking something between the two.
A slightly larger karlton with a more distinct but toned down look like the speed flares.

aslong as it will look good without having to run a wider side skirt/bumper to match it im in. are you planning on making these rivet style or 3m adhesive style? it would be nice for both options as some people may not want rivets.

Definitely don't want any thing so complicated we have to add a bunch of parts.
Just a tasteful flare with a smooth transition into our existing body skirts and bumpers.

As for rivet and adhesive Im going to do both styles. Starting with adhesive as the molds will be easier to produce.

I'll be needing a narrow body hatch volunteer after I'm done with my sedan.

Yeah, I should have no problem rounding one up a hatch donor here in Ok.
I'll do the flares for free all the donor car will need is proper wheels and tires, and of course at least some lowering springs so it looks right.
