Default Xbox Bundle Worth It (System, 2 Games, 1 Controller for $199)??????

I was just wondering if now is the right time to pick up an Xbox. It's $199 for the system itself, Jet Set Radio Future, Sega GT 2002, and one Controller S (the smaller one).

Isn't that good?

I have PS1, PS2, N64, and the DC. I also have a bunch of games that I have to beat for them.

So is it a good time to snag up this offer just to have the system at a good price?

I heard those games are pretty decent too.

Whatcha think?

My friend who works for one of the game companies says it will drop to $150, without the games but with the S controller sometime soon.

I know I know...I always buy systems on the first day. I guess it's a good time to jump in.

I paid $300 for a PS2 on Day 1...then again...I bought 2 and sold the second one on Ebay for $600.

I shoulda bought 10

this was already posted, if you'd checked the second or third page of OT, you would have seen it.

That being said, I just bought it.

Screw that, get the one for $200 with the games. Better deal if you think about it. If you went to buy both those games (both are pretty cool and worth playing) it would cost you more than $50 to get both....may even cost more than $50 for one depending on where you buy. I picked up this bundle, Got Halo and a 2nd S-controller. So far I don't feel the money was wasted.

If anyone wants to meet up online for some Halo some night, let me know. The software you need is at www.xbconnect.com. You'll also need a hub or some such thing... assuming you have broadband that is.

when I hear "Broadband" it makes me worry that my DSL connection won't be able to handle it

Meh, I'm moving soon anyway, hopefully I can get cable there

I've seen some DSL folks online... some do ok, some don't... mostly depends on your upload speeds. I've got cable and rarely have any real problems, but for whatever reason if I'm playing for a long time every couple of minutes the lag will get pretty bad for about 5 seconds, then everything will be fine.

I picked mine up two days ago.

HALO alone is worth buying the system.

As others have said, yes, pick it up. Some of the best games are coming out for the XBox very soon. Make sure to check out Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell if you liked the MGS series, or even if you didn't cause it out does MGS in many ways!

I totally agree, its a damn good deal. But again, at least in the immediate future (6 months), I dont see anything that appeals to me.

Have you looked at the release list for October and November alone? Mech Assault, Splinter Cell, Unreal Championship, and Brute Force alone look like must-buys regardless of what kind of genres you're into.

For upcoming releases I'm siked about Metroid and Zelda on gamecube, and Shinobi and Rygar on PS2.

That's cool, I am too, but what about Ninja Gaiden, Shenmue II or Panzer Dragoon?

Shenmue II yes definately i want. Loved it for DC.

Panzer Dragoon, I played at E3 and was not impressed. Riding around on a flying dragon shooting things...not for me.

Dont know about Ninja Gaiden, I had 1-3 for NES.

The graphics of the x-box are a lot better I think. The games are coming. I like Halo, RSC, Test Drive, and Dead to Rights(once you get the hang of the controls.)
