I got similar responses last year. And, contrarily, we hosted one of the largest caravan's with over 100 people attending. The Moderators agree'd to leave it open last year, and it would be great if they could leave it open this year as well. As we are spending a lot of time coordinating and organizing with local PD and businesses to make this caravan happen.

I believe the local Moderator made a sticky with "Official WBM Caravan List", it included ours along with a few other big ones.

You'd have to talk with the Mod, but the thread that I linked above was closed within 5 or so days. and incidentally used the same gif as above... I didn't even realize that!

You organize with local PD?? What for? escort for the caravan? or for the congregation at the meeting point.

Let's not get sidetracked. The first one I created in February, that was closed. The one that held its weight was created in April.
It can be found here

To answer your question about local PD, we have quite a large group essentially "soliciting" a public parking lot as a meeting point. Additionally, a group of approximately 100 cars traveling through the small town of Stafford Springs, CT should not be a surprise to PD.

I am free to answer any and all questions. I'll try to find a local Mod also, anyone know who I should talk to?

I feel like the town of Stafford Springs, CT knows about the thousands of Subarus coming into town that day without your assistance.

Although you are probably correct, I am responsible for the organization of this particular caravan. And if anyone in this group has any issues, I want PD to know our route and intentions.

This. Im curious as to the local PD involvement as well. An escort to an out of state to a car event seems unlikely of MSP. As for the meeting point, if its just a 15 or so minute thing, there wouldn't be a need to police the actual meet up.

Yea. We know. That's our point. So the one you started in February got closed a week later. And then you started one in April that stayed open.

So this year, your plan was to start one one week later and expect it not to be closed again?? Why not follow the course of action you took last year and just start it in... I dunno, April?

If the coordinating of an event too early is causing harm or stress to the staff/members of NASIOC/NESIC, then please close this thread and we can try again in April.

Otherwise, we hope to have an excellent event

who are "we". I'm pretty sure (if i do remember correctly) you are from a vt group and really did not set up that meet in the hall of fame in the beginning. I believe someone closer and more local should be doing the coordination of this and not someone out of state...

We, being the individuals that supported this caravan last year.

To touch on your point that someone more local should be coordinating the group. I am involved with a group originating in Boston, MA. Just a few weeks ago we organized an event at a shop near Rhode Island with over 100 people attending. Furthermore, we are also organizing an event in New Hampshire, expecting 1,000 people. Could you be a little more clear as to why someone "more local" should be coordinating?

We are looking for support, bringing everyone together to enjoy WBM 2014.

I, for one, appreciate someone putting some effort into something like this. Why so much animosity?

If you don't want to go don't go, no need to work the guy over.

I will be there and I'll drag my brother and his Saabaru with me.

See you there

New fuel injectors and spark plugs today! Then cleaning the car. I'll try to make it, again, to be in the caravan. Had a nice time last year!
