I am all about helping a fellow car enthusiast, however, I am in the wrong state to be helping you. How similiar are those motors to bug (vw) motors?

Sorry Tom, but I had things to do on Friday with family since my whole weekend was spent racing. Plus, I am so mechanically inept it seems that I would just screw it up. I would like to learn, though..

Jeezus you have me wanting to drive over there to work on it!
Curse you for getting me obsessed with 914's! I used to see them on the road and thought they were ratty little things.

How much could you expect to pay to do a moderate (non-concours winning) restoration on a 914?

A FULL restoration? Wow... I'd say a little over 10 grand for a full restoration.

I'm just using the body and all the stuff with it. Getting completely different engine and all. It's going to be my lil street monster.

Later,
Tom
