Post Want to sell locally

I have the Subaru STi light weight front and rear bumper beams for sale. The front beam has been used but is in good shape. The rear one has never been used, just sitting in my garage. I also have a STi suspension (struts and springs) that I used for a little under 1 year that I would like to sell.

I am posting it here because they are somewhat large and I would rather not ship them so it would be nice to sell to a local.

Also Mini, when are you going to get the rear links so you can buy my STi 20mm rear sway bar?

Is your car back up and running good? If so, are you racing this weekend. I could bring them wth me if you are.

My car was never not running =). It is just still not turbo'd. I added a fuel pump and that brought back a lot of the torque I lost when I did a "custom" modification to my iSR intake. My valves are ticking so I need to do them properly. The biggest reason I didn't race last time is because my tires are bald. I almost have the finances for them, but I couldn't get them in time for the weekend anyways. Long story short... I will be up at the races, but probably not racing. Bring the beams and I'll get you the money for them. (Will they even fit in the trunk?)

You will probably need to stick them in the back seat. So bring a blanket or something to wrap them in so you don't scuff anything.

I may be interested in the suspension. How much are you asking for it? Also any info on the sway bar you are selling would be nice also.

I was figuring $300 for the suspension. The sway bar isn't for sell yet. I told Scoobyslack he could buy it after he gets some rear links for his car. I had a 22mm front bar for sale but the guy that bought it should be in town tonight or tomorrow to pick it up.

I'm trying to talk copec into your suspension, but he's still not sure, nor will he ever be, if he's going to keep the RS or pony up and find a project car.

That sounds like a fair price. Are they still on your car? If so, is there a chance that we could arrange a test drive. The only hesitation that I have is the cost of installing them because I do not have the necessary equipment to put them on myself.

No, I have Tein coilovers on my car now. That is why I need to sell them. They are very easy to install, not any special tools required. DLC and Scoobyslack and Suberboy have all riden in it when I had them on. You could ask them how it feels. The toughest part is tightening the top nuts on the rear struts. You may need a spring compressor, but you can leave a deposit with AutoZone and when you return it you get your deposit back. Ends up being an almost free rental.

Thumbs up

All you need is these tools:

19mm and/or 3/4 socket x 2.
Breaker bar, solid ratchet and small ratchet or box wrencht.
19mm and/or 3/4 box wrench.
11-13mm socket (can't remember which)
Spring compressor.

Possibly a hacksaw to cut through the brakeline holder thingies. I never connected mine and my coilovers don't have 'em.

Check this out for more specific details: Strut Replacement

Might I inquire how much you are selling the lightweight beams for and why?

I am selling them because they are not legal for STS. I would imagine negotiations could start at $120 for the pair. Not sure what they cost new lately. I paid around $160 or so for the pair.

Actually, I just chacked and the price is less than I thought to get them now. How about $100 for the pair?

I could probably do the $100 arrangement. I'll need to check finances, but I'm fairly confident I can do it.

Lapper: I have a slightly used set of KYB GR2 struts i'm looking to sell, now that my coilovers are in.

They've only had two races and about 7000 miles on them.

$150, struts only. Your springs and stuff should work. My old ones are rusty and nasty as hell
