Have a Nice Day? I'm sorry guys...

I can't get rid of this uncontrollable urge to significantly modify my 914 Porsche.

So, I guess it will be my new toy to play with for a while. I have disgraced the Subie gods...

Later,
Tom

914s are very good CSP cars, i've seen a few race and they do very well.

At least it has a boxer heart

Yep, it's a 4-cylinder boxer.

I think I'm going to turbo it.

Brat - the lower tie bar doesn't do anything! LOL

However, my subaru project car is still on the way. I figure I'm going to spend a couple of months on this Porsche. That's it.

- get it repainted
- bigger brakes
- custom wheels and tires
- re-build engine to performance specifications
- turbo charge it
- replace a most of the panels (rust)
- strip interior and do that all custom
- roll cage
- replace original decals and badges
- flared fenders

I mean, it's not going to take a fortune to make this car fast. There is every possible performance part you can think of out there for this 4 cyl engine. And, it's all cheap as hell.

I figure I'll probably dump about $6,000 total into this car when it's all done. Give or take $1,000.

Talking

I just have to share this with you guys.

Well, after working on my 914 for a few days, I've learned a lot about these 4 cyl. boxer engines. I've also learned that us Subaru enthusiasts are seriously deprived from information and performance for our cars.

There is so much information and stuff out there for my little Porsche 914 boxer engine, it's unbelievable. I just bought the repair manuals for $16. I can get every concievable gauge cheap. I can get performance crankshafts, cams, heads, pistons... it's all so available and very affordable. I just thought it was so cool that there is so much aftermarket support for this car. Nothing like my Subaru 2.5 RS.

This 914 is going to be so neat when I'm done with it!!

Cool

Looks like you'll be having a lot of fun with this project in the upcoming (months?). I would really like to see it sometime. I could definitely take a drive up there, Golden Gate Canyon is a great drive. PM me if you want to meet up. Oh yeah, how well is it driving?
