Exclamation Rocky Mountain Classifieds - please READ and Acknowledge

Well,

I still believe it is beneficial to use this forum for people who only want to sell locally and not ship stuff. Heck, I even have some stuff to post for sale locally tonight.

However, this is a little out of hand.

What I propose is the following:

(1) That you first place a post in the private classifieds.
(2) Then come here to create a "locals look here" post here in Rocky Mountain I-club, that has a link to your private classified advert.
(3) I will then close the "locals look here" thread (at some point) so people can go to the private classifieds with their questions and replies.

Thanks,

Larry Ganz

I don't really see how 3 or 4 people selling stuff is out of hand, but whatever the moderator wants, the moderator gets You command and we shall obey.

I'm not too sure we need this, Larry. Given the amount of traffic that we see (or don't see) around here, I think this is overkill. My 0.02.

I agree with the previous two remarks. I know that I just found some stuff that I want and I found it here. It's actually seems quite helpful for those that DON'T want to ship stuff. I don't think that it hurts anyone to have people list their items here first. Just my thoughts, and I'm still a newbie so I guess they don't mean squat.

I don't see what the problem is, we have one of the lowest amount of topics on the board. So what if a few are items for sale or whatever. Most are posted here because the seller wants to sell locally. Sure beats not having anything at all on the Rocky Mountain forum.

All the other regional forums let people post stuff for sale.

Why don't they think it's out of hand?

I don't have a problem with locals selling stuff on this board. I think it's a good idea. But, when other people from other forum post stuff for sale... that's when it's out of hand and should be moved to the Private Classifieds.

Have a Nice Day?

I don't think you guys completely get it. Lemme splain...

I log on last night and see 75% of the active topics (at the time that I posted this) were "for sale" advertisements. I have been agravating b-spec and others by moving all their posts to classifieds and trying to keep it clean here. I figure that's where the classifieds belong.

I did leave a suggestion that the locals could point everyone to the private classified over there. I then set an example by posting my own private classified and directing people there. I thought this would be the best way to handle it.

I now see that isn't what everyone wants, so forget it. I just don't want to be acused of playing favorites when I leave classifieds in here. I only ask that someone explain to me what Bratmantlz is saying

I think we all understand what you're getting at Larry. A post here and there for stuff isn't bad, but when most of the active topics are sale related, it's silly.

Thankfully, people are talking more now...

It was probably just a fluke.

You also have to understand Larry that the only forum that gets LESS posts than this forum is the Forester forum. Every single other forum has much more activity than this one.

So what if 3 classifieds take up 75% of the posts?
