I think most companies want to check and double check before they confirm and release products for the new platforms to ensure perfect fitment.

Personally I hate the tail lights. Are companies working on things like that already? Just wondering if you and other vendors are hearing support like this is already in the works for this body style?
Thanks! I have nor personally seen any new tailights for the new body style, but I can't imagine new products like this being too much further down the line. I know for the BRZ it was about 6 months before we started to see a decent selection of aftermarket parts for the new platform.

How has the WRX been performing as of late? Are you still as happy about the car as you were early-mid April?

Have any things cropped up recently which you consider to be annoyances or things that you do not particularly like about the car?

Have you been able to go over the break-in period yet? If so, how does the car feel/perform above 4k?

Thank you guys! Please keep up all the excellent work!

It's been crazy busy around here, but soon you should start seeing regular updates, as we do have some things in the works And I am still loving this car. I actually had the change to take the STi out for awhile and I am so impressed with the new FA engine in the WRX, as well as the chassis in both cars. The STi does feel more manly with the heavier and quicker steering, but both cars feel so much better than the previous generations. I'm still having a hard time not buying one lol.

The only thing I did not like about the WRX was the super-low RPM power, but it seems like since it has been broken in, that has been much less apparent, but I do notice it. Not near as bad as when the car was new.

And yes, both care are 100% broken in so we have been able to have some real fun with them. I took both for a cruise up our local canyons and was all smiles the entire way.

Thanks guys!
Rick

Hey guys,

We installed the Tomei Titanium Catback on our 2015 WRX and it looks great and sounds even better. Check out the video below

Thanks,

This is the best sounding exhaust I've heard on the 2015 yet.

So I'm assuming you guys have yet to update your website so that the Tomei exhaust shows up when you select the '15 WRX as your vehicle?

Also, is it a perfect fit, or did you guys have to finagle it to get it to work?

They said no modifications were required to make it fit in their other thread.

The sweet little WRX is all broken in and it’s time for its first mod, and what is that you ask? And oil change! Okay, not exactly a modification, but it excites me all the same as this is our first step before we start the real modifications.

Those with a BRZ/FR-S will be very familiar with changing the WRX’s oil, and really this is one of the easiest oil changes I have ever done. Let’s get started!

What we used:
5.4 Quarts of Penrite Racing 5W30 oil
Prova Oil Filter
Dimple Magnetic Drain Plug M16x1.5x12
Note* if re-using your factory drain plug, make sure to pick up a new crush gasket for it

Tools needed:
14mm wrench
15mm wrench (required for new Dimple Drain Plug)
Oil Filter Wrench (not usually required, but someone at the factory ate their Wheaties that morning)
Clean Funnel
A few rags or paper towels

First I like to remove the oil fill cap, this helps the oil drain a bit quicker when you remove the drain plug.

Now get under the car, and get your 14mm wrench, you will see the drain plug exposed at the bottom of the pan, horray for nothing covering the drain plug!

Place your oil drop pan/catch under the drain plug and you will need to use a bit of force to remove the drain plug as it seems like Subaru paints over these and employs He-Man to torque these down.

Let all of the oil drain, clean the drain plug, apply the new crush gasket and thread it back into the oil pan. Don’t quote me on this yet, but the Torque specs should be 30.8 ft-lb for the oil drain plug. We used the Dimple drain plug, which required a 15mm wrench.

Now we move to the top of the engine. You will see the oil filter is incredibly easy to get to. We had to use a filter wrench to remove it, but normally you can get these off by hand. Once removed, I like to clean up any oil on the top of the oil cooler.

Make sure to lubricate the O-ring on the new filter, once done we can install the new filter with a toque spec of 10.3 ft-lb(Black OEM Filter) or 8.9 ft-lb(Blue OEM filter), but I always go off the German standard “GuttenTight” which is roughly hand tight plus about turn.

Use a clean funnel and pour in 5.4 quarts of oil. Put on the oil cap, start up the car, and make sure the oil light on the dash turns off. Get out of the car and visibly check for any leaks. Shut down the car, and check the dipstick to make sure the oil level is correct. Is it? Yay!

You've just completed your first oil change on your new WRX. Not only will your friends be impressed, but the car will now have more respect for you as well. Now go enjoy the car with a nice drive!

Thanks,
Rick

Are there other Tomei Ti exhausts that fit on the '15 WRX? For example, on the BRZ/FRS, there are three different versions of exhausts, which have different amounts of flow and muffler deletes.

True, but their other thread is for the '15 STI, not WRX. Hence I wanted to make sure.

I think your picture from the chat window should be the default avatar/profile picture for RSD. Just saying !

I like the quieter volume & look of the perrin, but the tomei does sound better.
