I find myself only waving at WRX/STi's, most people driving other models in my area never wave back so I don't bother anymore. Aside from the occasional Impreza.

There are a few who will wave back, but not many.
This.

I never look at other drivers beside me. Ever. That said, I don't want to seem rude, so if people are going to be waving at me, I'll return the gesture. I'll just have to start looking for it.

My girlfriend thinks I'm crazy. She looks at everyone, all the time.

The only place I've ever noticed anyone waving at me is when negotiating the long dirt road (shared among many other houses) from my place out to the proper, paved street.

Lol I was over exaggerating when I said they don't notice you even if you pull rite up on them.

Even if you're exaggerating on this statement it does seem true for the most part. I've looked around at stops sometimes and most people are just staring ahead not paying attention to you. I do the same though, and I especially ignore other "modified" cars cause it seems like if they catch you looking then they get this idea that it's time to race.

I will look at WRX/STI's for the wave. I'd say most will wave back when given the time to return a wave but every now and then I'll get the confused look () mostly from other GR owners wondering why I'm waving lol. I don't wave to any other Subaru's though because most aren't enthusiastic enough to return a wave.

They are most certainly abundant here in Colorado. It only makes sense with the amount of mountain passes we have

I have found the WRX wave to manifest as a nod usually. I think it's happening to me a lot because the other WRX driver sees the car and usually spends a while looking at it, like "oh that's the new one." And so we usually see each other and nod. Pretty neat.

For when I'm driving around at Rally America events, I'm thinking that the wave/nod will be mostly suspended due to sheer volume of WRX's putzing around.

I've noticed that for every 4 waves I give to WRXs or STIs, I'll get one back. But so far every time I've waved to an Evo I get one back. I'm about 90% sure that the only reason is because here in the Portland area, the number of WRX/STIs outnumber Evos about 25:1.

I frequently get waves in my S2000 from other S2000 drivers, but I'm not sure I ever did in my '09 WRX. There are just so many of them in the pacific northwest that it's common to pass by another one.

It is a nice feeling though, to be part of a club. I always try to initiate a wave if I think the other driver will notice.

Just got my WRX a few weeks ago and it really threw me off the first couple times I got waved at.
