Just wondering if anyone on the board would now why a car would start to run rich all of a sudden.
I have started to notice a lot more build up of carbon on the tailpipe. More so than usual. This has just started to happen over the last couple of months. Is their anything that would cause an engine to do this i.e. weather? Any help would be much appreciated!

I forgot.
I have a Club Spec Kit with a catless uppipe installed. I also live in Toronto, Canada and the temperature is starting to drop for the season. |

Not 100% sure what's in a club spec kit, but if you're fooling the computer to change the mixture and such then that may have something to do with it. Besides that, fuel pressures?

well the car runs stupid rich as it is, unless it's bogging or hard starting you are fine.

I have similar mods to you (TXS stage 2 with PDE catless uppipe). I get a lot of buildup at the tailpipe also, but I have just learned to ignore it. Some days you will be running richer than others. From what I've seen on I-club, just about everybody who has some cats missing has the same thing.
I doubt you can do anything about it. If you do find something though, let us know. I've resigned myself to just dealing with it and using a little metal polish on the exhaust tip occaisionally. Scott |
