Default SubiSpeed's 2015 WRX Project car

The newly released 2015 WRX has been highly debated by critics and fanbois a-like. Lots of discussion and argument about the styling of the exterior of the car. We've all heard it, and frankly, we don't care. Here at SubiSpeed, we believe that this car is going to be one hell of a contender in the sport compact market and we are excited to be a part of it.

For those that don't know us, most of our work has been documented in the FR-S/BRZ market, where we are known as FT-86 SpeedFactory. You can check us out over at the FT86Club.com forums, our website, Facebook page, Youtube channel, and Instagram account. Here is a shot of our shop project car and a link to it's build thread over at FT86Club.

Now that we got that out of the way. Let's check out what you guys are really here for. Our new 2015 WRX

Just a quick teaser to start off. Be sure to subscribe to our Youtube channel for more videos like these and product reviews.

Subscribed, I like where this is going. I wish the Enkei RS05RR on the FT86 were the same pattern, curious how those would look.

That Greddy exhaust clip sounds pretty good.

Would you mind recording some clips of how the car sounds from inside, seeing as that's where we'll be most of the time while the car is operating?

How is the confort so far? Even tough those coilovers were not designed for the new chassis do you believe they will do the job in the long run?

How do do you guys think the 18x9.5 +27 nt03 would have fit? Too aggressive for this body style?

We don't keep things stock for long...

First thing other than trying out other cat-backs from the GR chassis to test fit on our 2015 WRX is a new catless downpipe. A popular mod when going "Stage 2" on a Subaru, we figured it would be best to start there.

Taking a look at the stock piece, you can see that there will be power gained from this modification. Also, the "dump pipe" off the turbo goes directly into a cat. Removing this piece with a straight pipe will surely add more.

Check out the stock pieces...

The prototype piece starts as a 2.5" pipe and opens up to a full 3". We had to do this because of clearance issues around the sub-frame of the car. Subaru has mounted this pipe very low and we wanted to ensure as much clearance as possible. We may see about a full 3" system, but for now this one is working very well.

Stay tuned for more on this and we'll have dyno numbers soon....

Comfort is very good. It's firmer, but it does not jar you over the bumps. Very good for a DD. The HKS system is known for their comfort and their spring rates are on the softer side.

We took the car out to a local auto-x and took 3rd fastest raw time and 3rd PAX time in STU. The car feels fantastic, honestly. A touch stiffer in the rear would be perfect, as there still is a touch of understeer at turn in and we could use a little more rotation mid-corner.

We are off to the road course today and will be filming, so stay tuned for that.

Pretty sure you would be looking at running a good amount of camber and stretching the tires with a 245 width or smaller to get that to fit. I think you will see it happen with some cars out there.

How much camber did you have to run with your wheels?

Not much. We are at about -1.3* in those photos. We maxed it out at the track and there is a lot more room for some more tire or a bit more aggressive offset.

Bump for the full review. Stay tuned as we just wrapped up filming at the track this past weekend.

How did you guys adjust the rear camber? Is it similar to the GR where you need adjustable lower control arms?

We replaced the fog lights with winjet fog lamps which we'll offer as a kit ... the hids for the headlights are the same as the frs h11... and we disabled the DRL.

Headlights are 6k... fog lights have yellow lamin-x... the boomerang light was also replaced (t10 aka 194 aka wedge bulb)

Yes, you need rear lower control arms or to press in a bushing in the upper arms to adjust camber.
