The base map that comes with the WRXLink will get you up and running fine, as it is very similiar to the base map of the WRX.
Just do a "reload" and that will get you the base map you need to start running. If you have not changed any of the fueling then the car should actually run similiar to a stock WRX. From there you can advance the timing and adjust whatever needs to be adjusted. |

I wouldnt really want to advance timing unless going down the strip. For a street map try retarding the timing a few degrees.

The reason you put a Link in is to get more power. The only way to get more power is to raise timing (or raise boost or lower fuel). Of course along with advancing the timing you should raise your fuel levels. There is a point where advancing the timing does no good anymore and a lot depends on you O2 readings, EGT temps, knock count etc.... But between the stock ECU MAP and a tuned Link MAP there quite a few degrees of adjustment (and added fuel) that can be reached with the stock WRX. Still is still running on 91 octane also. Any person can easily make an extra make 30 hp gains but just putting the in the Link. This will still keep you in a very safe range and give you a lot more fun. Of course your gas mileage will drop if you are boosting all the time. But you bought the Link for a reason right. In the end it does help to have experience in tuning. But of course this takes a lot of time and patience. |

Anyway here goes. Open the PCLink Software. Connect to the Link Goto Link Controls on the Menu Then select reload and click yes. This will reload the base map that came with the Link you have. |
