Old farts reunite! More of us have munchkins now! Let's meet up for old time sakes. Maybe a BBQ, potluck or...Applebee's?

It's been a while since the mods started shutting down our threads due to shenanigans.

Default Funny Story

Back in March, 2002, ITN rally club staged a rally that started in the back lot at Appleby's in Rancho. Lots of people showed up, it was hectic. I was running the start. I got flustered, and when everybody had left, I left the timing box behind in the back lot by mistake. It is about 2 feet square, has 2 wires coming out, and has the ITN symbol on it.

I got to my first timing assignment, realized I forgot the box, and improvised timing and got the cars through. On my way to my next assignment, I was going by the Appleby's, so I went by the back lot to pick up the box that I forgot. It had been about an hour, and I thought nobody would notice the box I forgot.

The driveway was blocked by a San Bernardino county sheriff. I parked on the street, went up to the deputy, and explained that I had forgotten the timing box, and could I go into the lot and get it. He got on his walkie talkie, and said "Guys, it isn't a bomb!" OMG, I was escorted to the captain of the bomb squad. I identified myself, explained what happened. They took me to the box, had me open it. Everyone in Appleby's had been kept inside for an hour +. They even had a dog there. The captain said it was a good thing I got there when I did, they were about to blow it up. I would have had a problem explaining that to the ITN group. And I couldn't laugh, these people were serious folks.

I bet my picture is on the wall at Appleby's as personna non grata. Maybe, after 12 years, I can go there again. This happened just after 9-11, and things were pretty tense.

We are staging a Monte Carlo style rally on 6-14-14, start at Lebec, end at Palmdale. Go to Into The Night Rally Club web site for information on the rally and also how to do them. Free for first timers. Need a navigator, this rally will be about 7 hours, great back roads. Good first time rally. We are the only organization in the US that still stages Monte Carlo style rallies, we do about 3-4 a year, so take advantage of this opportunity.

I'm in.

I don't know that Scott can make it, he's super busy and he lives a lot further away than he used to.

The Wurz is not local.

I think that's about it. Everyone else should still be somewhat local I think...

909MM. LOL

Yeah I don't go to meets often because of my current job, and I'm just tired of the BS mostly. Its always the same crap.

To bring back our meet though, that is a different story since we are all old friends and it would be nice to catch up.

Yeah, same number.

I think all of us have the same number as before.

I think Diesel Stacks doesn't even have a Subaru anymore. Hell I'm selling mine too. Going the way of the TDI.

Anyone wanna buy my car?
