Question Swap stock ECU back to pass inspection

I am considering getting a turbo setup for my car along with Link Plus ECU.
Since I live in PA the car must pass emissionstest and inspection every year. In order for the car to pass the inspection, the mechs must be able to plug the ODB2 scanner and read the ECU history/codes.
A reasonable way of doing this would be to swap the stock ECU back. Now here's the question: Will the car be driveabe at all and will it pass emissions test with the stock ecu ?

If it was drivable would depend on your setup. Also, do the emissions guys drive your car in PA? Might not be wise leaving it all on there if they get to drive it, even if just onto a set of rollers.

I've alvays left the car at the shop to have it inspected. I'm not sure, but I don't think that roadcoarse is a part of an inspection.

They do have to drive the car, but only as a safety inspection. I was not aware that they would plug in a scanner. I thought all that AWD cars got was a sniffer test at idle. I am not worried about it. I am friends with the gas station guys.
