Question How to change the display color on HKS turbo timer?

I've got the type 0, and everything I've seen indicates it's a dual color display that's selectable between blue and orange/red. It's orange now, and nothing in the instructions indicates how to change the display color to blue. Can someone please help me out here? I know I'm missing something obvious like a big switch that says "red-blue"... LOL Thanks!

You might be confused with the HKS type-01 timer, which lights up blue. I think they look identical exceot for the colors. i could be wrong tho.

Type 0 is orange and blinks to red on countdown.

Type 1 is blue and blinks to red(?) on countdown.

I've openned a Type 0 to see if I could change the LEDs. I wouldn't attempt it.

Cool, thanks for the info. The vendors and even HKS themselves http://www.hks-power.com/turbotimer/type0.html advertise that it's changeable between blue and red. Oh well, I'm growing used to the orange display.

I think when they say "change" its a language/translation problem. The color does change... just not how we English speakers thought.

Funny thing, just a few weeks back I had this very same discussion (er argument ) with a vendor on eBay. When it came down to it, I asked him if I bought his supposed change-to-blue-capable Type-0 and it wasn't blue would he refund all of my money including two way shipping. He declined and suddenly believed I was right

Also, it was my understanding that the Type 0 housing is silver, and type I is black, correct? (Have a Type I on order)

I believe there are two models, a silver and a black. Either way, it can be easily painted safely.
