I'll take a guess here and assume your Morettes didn't have the plug-in harnesses so the factory wires had to be cut and spliced to install them? Obviously they were not reconnected properly and that is why you are having problems now. I can't help you without seeing the car, you need to go over the wiring and fix whatever is connected incorrectly. If you didn't do it yourself and you aren't familiar with how it is wired, try enlisting the help of someone in your local area with the proper skills.
You don't specify your location but if you happen to be in the NYC/LI area I may be able to help you, if so PM me. Otherwise I suggest you make a post in your regional area forum and ask for help.

Hey guy,
I have morrettes on my scubie and I didnt have to do any cutting of wires. Those are direct bolt in and direct plug in. I guess someone didnt know what they were doing when installing them. I have no answer for you on how to rewire them without looking at it.

Check your headlight fuses, you may have blown one and this could possibly cause some strange behavior. Other than that just make sure the connectors are seated properly into the headlights, and that none of the pins on either part (headlight or harness connector) are damaged or bent.
Edit-
Actually re-reading what you said if the Morettes still work ok then the fuses are probably good but check anyway. More likely something happened to the stock lights to cause this. Pay close attention to the male connector pins inside the connectors on the stock bulbs, be sure the bulbs themselves are still good.
