Kirkland is a lot easier to get to the highways than Juanita which is a little bit more tucked back. Kirkland will be more expensive the closer you get to the water, but is a really nice area for young adults. Lots of nicer bars and restaurants within walking distance in the downtown area. Little/no crime and you'll probably see a younger crowd the closer you get to downtown.

Not to mention we have the best coffee shop in Seattle called Cloud City (did I just start a war?)
Maple leaf, like the area that brushes up against Lake City (Lake ****ty)? . I mean I lived there for a year right when we got out of college but moved away fairly quickly. To each their own, but I didn't like it in that area.

Otherwise you should be just fine in Juanita and if you want a little bit of nightlife you can go to the waterfront.

Since you are young and single I would be remiss if I didn't strongly suggest that you consider Capitol Hill, South Lake Union, Fremont, Ballard and Wallingford as well.
Just got an apartment on South Lake Union . I was able to get a 1 bedroom with balcony facing lake union for $1560 and is a new building. Has a rooftop terrace and was able to watch a sea plane take off, pretty cool.

Im excited to move here. I've been working at the Virginia Mason hospitals in downtown seattle and lynnwood this week. Ill be here until next saturday then moving back some time late august.

Welcome! SLU is growing leaps and bounds due to Amazon. $1560 is about going rate so you did just fine there. If you are around there during lunch, check out the food trucks.

I started a thread a few weeks ago about moving to Seattle as well.

I found a nice apartment in the North Seattle/Green Lake area that is reasonably priced.
Anyone know if the Green Lake area is a nice place to live?

Agreed, there are far too many goats and horses in my neighborhood and not nearly enough houses

The price did seem on par with other apartments. I ended up settling in mine as it directly overlooks So. Lake union, and I can watch the sea planes from my apartment or roof top. The price is still a kick in the nuts. My mortgage was less and I had 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths and 2 car garage. But it was in Utah and Utah sucks.

Thanks! Seems like a good location.

Has anyone dive the whale watching tours? Might do one when I come back up in August.

My step-son and his wife did one that sailed from either Pt Townsend or Pt Angeles last summer and had a good time (i.e. they saw whales) on it.
