I doubt many rich folks spend their time gaming on a high end desktop like me, but they are probably happy to drop 3 grand on a mac pro that has tons of specs they'll never use and don't understand (or, at most, play CoD on). Because conversation piece and bragging rights .
Incorrect use of vocabulary aside (unless you really did mean to say that rich people like to dig up their appearance ), your overall assessment is based on a false reality, which in turn makes it wrong.

Furthermore, as no one knows the as yet to be released details of the Google solution, either on the hardware or software side, you have no idea whether it will offer more, or less functionality than CarPlay.

My extensive personal experience with my bosses and most other people of that category says otherwise. You could claim that it is wrong to use stereotypes (and you'd be right from a logical or moral perspective) but typically those come about from reality somewhere. My 9+ years of living in Georgia can tell you most black stereotypes are reinforced daily. Just an observation. I'm not racist in the least, because there is no such thing as "race" other than the human one.

Correct. I wasn't saying I did.

I hope you grow up some day and happen upon this specific post and ask yourself "How could I have ever thought this way?". Maybe you won't ever grow up, maybe somehow you'll get married and have kids, I hope if you do, your kids find this post and wonder how their daddy could ever have thought that way, they would likely feel sorry for you, as I do.

So why even say anything? Oh yeah, cause you're closed minded, as you explained to everyone above, and you expect a certain outcome with only surface knowledge.

I grew up in Georgia . I'll give you a hint: They ask you what kind of coke you want to drink when they mean to ask what kind of soda. But, obviously I get your point and also agree. They both have merits and what people prefer doesn't matter that much.

As for that comment about stereotypes Samagon, what's the harm in it? I'm not so dumb as to think all black people are gangsters, etc. I also know there are lesbians out there that don't look like Ellen. I also don't care about any of that, but damn are there a lot more that I personally know and deal with on a weekly basis (tons of people at my weekend park activities who are trans, homosexual, etc) who look more like her with the short dyke haircut than those who don't. It also doesn't change how I interact with them, it's just an easy way to state "A vast majority of the people I know from this demographic indeed do fit this <description>".

Caveats aren't necessary if you know the person. They just take time.

A little further off topic to show what I mean. I asked my gf a while ago when discussing our living arrangements if she would live in places like any of her fellow medical school classmates do (they all live in slummy apartments with second hand furniture, etc... typical broke student life, despite lots of them coming from money families). I KNEW she would start out "Well, I don't think their lives are terrible, and they are perfectly nice people" and blah blah blah for 5 minutes explaining that it's just her personal quality standards and desires that influence her answer and she doesn't want to belittle anyone else's life. So, I told her" Just tell me the answer, Yes or No. It's that simple." I don't like wasting 5 minutes on stuff like that, especially if I already know the answer and the caveats don't change it.

/side rant

I never start these kinds of conversations unless someone else opens up with an attacking or insinuated remark to begin with.

I don't care what people buy or prefer in phone world, but if you say one thing about "apple makes superior this or that compared to android" I don't let that kind of stuff fly, especially when it's an opinion. Same with why I'm all over that CVT:Awesome thread. Some dumbass ran his mouth about how the cvt was better than the manual. Not gonna let that stand.

at some point in your life you will be the star of one of Dave Chappelle's 'when keeping it real goes wrong' skits.

No, really. I think people who drink pepsi are the pretentious kind of snobs that like to have big old huge wings bolted to their trunk.

It was a dig on KC... you know, the guy who actually started it. I don't even read WRXHC's posts if I can help it. He's just H2BS2.0

yeah, I need to stop entertaining the kid. I still don't know what the deal was with h2bs, at least wrxhc is still a kid and can blame it all on that.

This is pretty neat, hope Subaru decides to add it as an option for people who don't want the stock software or Apple Carplay.
