I'm assuming the harnesses are different for the amerispec engines...emissions etc. and the exhaust that you have on the car now will not be abel to handle the new engine. The ecu would have to be replaced with the j-spec ecu. Don't expect this engine to pass emissions testing when you try to get it inpected, because it won't. Mounts will be different from the 2.2 to the 2.0 liter engine i imagine. I could be mistaken on that aspect. You have your work cut out for you in the months ahead. The suspension and brakes will not be up to the task of the more powerful engine as well. These will undoubtedly have to be upgraded. Call some racing establishments to get more info on the fitment of a 2.0 turbo engine from the normally aspirated 2.2.

ODDJOB,

Contact Lance Smith at Vermont Sports Car. He has done several EJ20 conversions on US cars - three or four 2.5RS's that I know of, and possibly some 2.2's. The website is www.vtcar.com.

Vermont Sports Car just joined up with PRODRIVE to field an SCCA ProRally effort.

It'll pass inspection, you just have to go to the right place.

tru tru. it definitely would not pass emissions, BUT i dont live in a emission testing county. also, it does just matter where you take it. the suspension has definitely have to be upgraded, but from what i heard, even RS owners upgrade theirs as well. i hope a aftermarket exhaust will work...and what do you think about the front and rear differentials? do they have to be replaced? thanks alot guys...

You don't have to replace the differentials right away. You could wait until they explode from all the power your putting thru them
