Default 4EAT very rough shifting after hot tempratures/traffic

I have an 09 impreza 2.5i auto. This car is mainly driven in winter. However with recent gas prices I have been driving it this summer too as an alternative to the C63. I have started to notice extremely rough shifts after driving in heavy traffic in hot weather. I don't hear any clunking or knocking though. just harsh shifts. specially from 2-3 or 3-2. 2-1 gear is also very rough sometimes when coming to a full stop. Do I need a transmission cooler ? I want this transmission to last!

mods include WRX headers (no heatshield), resonated 2.25in straight pipes, k&n intake and a ECU reflash/tune.

OEM filter and fluid? How much more WHP are you at? Seem to start hard shifts right after the service? I thought OEM ATF was like a 100k/lifetime fluid...
